Dr. Haaland is a wonderful, kind and considerate doctor. I appreciate how smart and extremely knowledgeable. When he talks he is just thinking out load about the patient. He is not cutting you off or not listening he is processing his thoughts. It’s for our (patients) benefits that he processes out load this way. Everyone has a process how they work. We all battle our own quirky personality traits so just be patient in your appt and you’ll get answers. I have battled with RA for quite a few years now, and he has been great with trying various meds and changing them as needed in a quick fashion. So be patient say hello to staff and your doctor and maybe they will just make his day or any other doctors day a little better .

Dr. Haaland is very knowledgeable. He does listen to what you have to say about your health and remembers everything. He is an excellent doctor because he is very thorough when analyzing my disease. He had a long waiting list but it is worth waiting for to get the correct diagnosis. The office staff and nurses are great as well.

Dr Haaland and staff are some of the kindest most knowledgeable people. Dr Haaland is an absolutely brilliant human and always makes you feel as though your his only patient. Shawna is outstanding and truly cares. I must also mention the reception staff. They are always polite and make booking appointments easy. Way to go to the entire team.

I have been a patient since 2014. Condescending, arrogant, and cold is an apt description of him. Nurses do everything, he comes in at the end and asks a question. While you are in the middle of answering he starts talking over you. I asked him one day if he was going to stop talking long enough for me to answer his question. He told me it should be illegal to view your blood test results on life labs because he doesn’t want you knowing your numbers. He has withheld medical information from me that as a patient I had a right to know and when questioned he was very defensive. Last visit he told me to try half dosing my medication to see if I would get the benefits but the side effects would lessen. 4 days in and my stomach was really bothering me. Went on the drug companies website. 1st line in bold letters… DO NOT CRUCH, BREAK OR SPLIT!! It’s a time release tablet. 2 weeks later and my stomach is still bothering me.
He is very scientific and does a lot of research regarding rheumatoid arthritis and immunology but he should stick to the science end of things and stay away from patience. He treats us like bothersome gnats!

I have never left a doctors office in tears until seeing this doctor. He is the most arrogant self absorbed doctor I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. After waiting 3 years to see this doctor he was berating, misogynistic, rude, ignorant and every other wors you could think of someone just hammering on you. After waiting in his office for 2 hours he finally came in and decided to tell me he “swore” I would have a condition he decided I had. With all my labs showing the complete opposite and even his physician assistant telling him my labs were clear he insisted I would have it at some point in my life. I had a one month old baby at home and he told me “stop spending so much time on your baby and hire help and your sleep is more important” telling me to loose weight to fix the condition I don’t have. I have never been treated so badly by a doctor in my life. One month after a c section and he told me I needed to get more serious about myself not my child. This man should not be allowed to speak to anyone. He berated his nurses about how many shots they should be doing per day and theres no reason for their lack or appointments on a 2 minute notice. So waiting 3 years to be humiliated is ok but 24 hours is too long for his nurses to do an appointment. This is the worst doctor I could ever imagine.

(Have had RA for past 39 years and all Dr's have been wrong in his mind... no one answers the phone.. ever. I have been trying since beginning of July many times and no one. No one calls back either. I flaired up badly in Sept and had no dr to help me. Had to get referral to another rheumatologist. ... if u need help with ur arthritis go elsewhere, his office won't help u...

I was excited to see Dr. Haaland. I think I only waited maybe a year or less. I think it was my family history that I got in early. Yes he is busy, and due to my own Medical issues he gave me choices and options that certain meds would not be good for me. He explained everything to me in words I understood. I was so relieved when I finally got answers. With the MRI's, Xrays, and Ultrasounds I know I am in good hands. I am glad to know if I have any questions his team is there to answer them for me.

I honestly think the punctually category should be removed; timing has nothing to do with the competency or quality of Dr.Haaland and his team of nurses and support staff. Are they insanely busy? Yes. Do they sometimes take a bit longer to return your call? Yes. BUT if that’s the price I have to pay for excellent care from an excellent doctor, so be it! After years of unanswered questions and dead ends, Dr.H was the first doc to start connecting the dots of my unknown illness. It won’t happen overnight, and if that’s what you’re expecting I’d suggest you head south of the border and pay $$$$. Otherwise, take the afternoon off and bring a book 😉

The 3 year wait to see Dr Haaland was frustrating, but that was caused by COVID and our doctor shortage, not the doctor himself. Once I got an appointment his staff was courteous and helpful. His intern spent over an hour taking my information and asking questions. She then consulted with Dr Haaland before they both came to talk to me. Dr Haaland used a lot of terminology I was unfamiliar with but his intern explained it all to me afterwards. The most important part is that he felt strongly that he had the diagnosis, to be confirmed by a series of tests. When I researched this diagnosis at home it sounds exactly like what I’ve been experiencing. My pain had previously been dismissed by others as a normal aging experience. It was such a relief to be taken seriously. While I wasn’t hoping for a chronic condition to cope with, I am at least hopeful that it will be manageable with a proper diagnosis. He was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. What more could you ask for from a doctor? He is also willing provide follow up appointments via video conferencing, which will save me from long drives on winter roads.
