I loved Dr. Guard, but her nurse is horrible. I was raped, and her nurse acted so rude to me. She made it seem like I ruined her day. When I called to find out my lab results, the nurse yelled at me that she had called me the week before with my results. My phone records show no such phone call. I refuse to go back to Dr. Guard because her nurse is very unprofessional.

Dr. Guard delivered all three of my children. I would never think of going to anyone else. She is completely knowledgable of what it is she should be doing and advising me about. I completely trust her with my body and my children's safety. She delivered all three of my children via c-section and I recovered fantastically. She also made sure that I was comfortable during my stay in the hospital. She is not rude, however she can be blunt. But she is still understanding and takes the time to make sure she covers everything with you during check-ups. She doesn't beat around the bush and that is what I love about her! She knows her stuff and is very confident in her field of work. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Guard is extremely rude and very inconsiderate of patients needs. Her medical assistants are not much better. They are rude and short when answering questions or giving instruactions and have no personality. I have waited upwards of an hour every time I have been to her office with no explanation from any of the staff. Even the office manager is rude and seems to be uneducated. I had a question about a bill I had received and he came barging to the window and gave an answer that made absolutely no sense and then continued to tell me that my insurance was worthless. I would not recommend Dr. Guard to even my worst enemy.

Soon I will deliver my third child with Dr. Guard. My first child was born 6 weeks premature by emergency c-section, and she was supportive and did right by us. My second child was delivered by c-section (breech) in the middle of the night. All went well, and the postpartum care was very good. The care in this third pregnancy is also going well. Dr. G is very practical, frank, and direct, and I like that. For example, with my first delivery, she was very clear as to the risks related to premature birth. But she also sat and held my hand for a while afterwards--something I never expected from any doctor. During my second delivery, the anesthesologist kept making mistakes, but Dr. G didn't put up with any nonsense and took care of it. For these reasons and more, I trust her as my doctor.

Dr. Guard is very business like and some may consider this rudeness. It is true that Dr. Guard does not sugar coat anything! After having 2 mc with other Dr's, Dr. Guard delivered my son via c-section due to my not dialating past 8 and he had a low hb. It ended up that he was "sunny side up". People who comment on punctuality have to remember that she is an OB and babies don't always come after office hours, so in my experience I did have to wait on occasion due to the fact she was delivering someone - that can't be helped. I would have no problem having Dr. Guard deliver another child.
