Biography
Dr. Julie Bodemann Goodwin, M.D. was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She attended Texas Christian University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Social Work. Dr. Goodwin attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she received her Doctorate of Medicine in 2009. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology through St Louis University at St Mary’s Hospital in St Louis, Missouri. She received the Outstanding Resident Teaching award, Resident of the Month award several times, and the Senior Resident Research Award. Dr.Goodwin was selected to serve as administrative chief resident, as well as resident representative on the Quality Improvement committee, Obstetrics Operations committee, Resident Recruitment committee, and the Women’s Evaluation Unit committee. Dr. Goodwin graduated in 2013 and subsequently passed the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Written Examination. She practiced general OB/GYN in Dallas, Texas for almost 3 years before returning home to Arkansas. Dr. Goodwin has trained in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology but holds a special interest in adolescent counseling and care, long acting reversible contraceptives, treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, family planning, and breast feeding. She also has a particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including the use of the da Vinci surgical system. Dr. Goodwin enjoys spending time with her husband John (who practices GI with Arkansas Gastroenterology in North Little Rock) and her three young boys. She also enjoys traveling to Fort Worth for TCU football games and dabbles in (very) amateur photography. Dr. Goodwin encourages women to be advocates for their own health. She enjoys educating and counseling them so that they understand their diagnoses and can make informed decisions regarding their care. Dr. Goodwin is thrilled to be back in Arkansas and continue her personalized care for women throughout their lives.
