Dr Guard is amazing. I had my daughter Dylan Buckley eleven months ago and she was a huge help during my pregnancy. She was able to tell me the sex of my baby, always asked if I had any questions or concerns regarding my daughter. During my labor she made sure the nurses gave me my epidural when I needed it, was extremely clean an organized. She told us what she was doing throughout the labor and also made sure Dylan and I were very comfortable during out stay at Baptist. She is the BEST and I won't going anywhere else unless she moves out of state!! She is very blunt and not one to sugarcoat things, which is hard for some people to swallow especially if ur sensitive but she has never been unprofessional. I don't understand why so many people bash her, she may not be your best friend but she does her job and does it well. :) *Sabrina

I waited in a patient room after disrobing and waited for Dr. Guard for one hour and forty-five minutes. I had to stick my head out the door to ask what was going on. When Dr. Guard finally came in and I mentioned the wait, she responded that she was busy with other patients and asked me if she was supposed to just tell those patients sorry and leave them. I said that it would be nice to hear from anyone in the office, Dr. Guard stated that her nurses "have jobs to do as well; they do not just sit around on their butts." I mentioned that it only takes a few seconds for someone to stick their head in to say it would be a little bit longer. In addition, the room I was in had no heater working (in January), I could see on the thermostat it was 66 degrees in the room. Dr. Guard said someone had looked at the system, but it has not been fixed and the room "is a cold room."

If your on here reading this, please do not be discouraged by the negative comments, Dr.Gaurd has already delivered one of my daughters and is about to deliver my 3rd daughter. She is a very down to earth individual who has been in practice a long time. She has a down to earth personality that alot of people seem to take as her being rude. She is very thorough and looks out for the patients needs first. She is an excellent doctor in my book.

Dr. Guard is very rude and uncaring. We went in for an ultrasound and she couldn't find the sac which scared us and then I asked her for some explanations as to why we couldn't see it and she responded with no compassion whatsoever and stated it could be a bad pregnancy. We changed doctors and it turned out it was just too early to see anything and now everything is fine. Dr. Guard is a very cold person and takes the excitement out of what should be a wonderful experience. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I am very pleased with Dr.Guard. She would do anything to help her patients. She spends a lot of time with me even though I know she really doesn't have the time. I am a Registered Nurse and I know professionlism. I trust her judgement completely.

I adore Dr Guard. She was very helpful to me during my pregnancy and I had many problems with gestational diabetes and had to have an emergency c/section. I would and DO recommend to her to every one I know. Her staff is very kind and really helpful also. I know that if I need ANYTHING I can count on any one of them! Her new office is great and her new partner is very nice also.

Dr. Guard has the worst bed side manner I've ever seen. My wifes pevis was too small to have a baby vaginaly, but Dr Guard never told us. My wife pushed for an hour before we decided to have a c-section. During the surgery I heard Dr Guard say uh oh. We never found out why. We were told everything was fine. Then we read the dictation of the surgery and it said that my wife had a laceration in her vagina and had a big loss of blood. Dr Guard NEVER told us this. Don't you think this is important?? She was always rude and acted like we idiots. This was our first child and she never made us feel important or excited. I wouldn't recommend Dr Guard to my worst enemy. Our girl was born over two years ago and it still makes me mad. We switched docters with our second child. We use Dr. Amy Weidower at Baptist Hospital. She is AWESOME!! She is so nice and professional. Don't use Dr. Guard what ever you do. You WILL regret it!!!!!!!!

I would suggest to anyone to find another doctor. My wife had a C-section performed by Dr. Guard. I was present in the operating room and the doctor repeatedly verbally abused the assisting staff, and at one point stopped performing and said "I guess we'll just sit here then" because they were unable to sufficiently get my wife numb from the waist down. Dr. Guard repeatedly abused verbally the nurses and staff trying to help during the labor as well. We had a young nurse who was very nice that Dr. Guard repeated belittled for no reason which made things very uncomfortable. It was very unprofessional and thoroughly upsetting delivery process. Also please have another doctor perform circumcision if you choose to have that done on your child. Dr. Guard performed the one on our son so poorly that the nurses informed us that we should take pictures of how bad it was done and try to take legal action, which we are still debating upon.
