Dr Patel takes his time with patient, listens to patient,explains everything thoroughly, asks if you have any questions. Thorough doctor - highly recommend
He is also personable - caring
Nurses-staff are all top rate

It was the worst appointment I had ever experienced! Mr. Patel entered the room did not acknowledge my daughter as the patient nor me as the parent. He proceeded to introduce the student doctor that was working with him. He was offensively impolite and arrogant. He did not listen and made us feel worthless. We traveled great distance to see Mr. Patel. We thought this rheumatologist would understand and listen but it was the total opposite.

He is always wonderful with my daughter and it is one of the few doctors she likes. He listens to and address my concerns. In this modern day of technology I like that he double checks Rx electronically, it leaves less room for error. We see him at UVA not his regular office, but the wait time is usually just a few minutes. We have tried 4 different Pediatric rhuematologist and been not satisfied but we are planning on staying with him.

Condescending, arrogant, uncaring, rude - just a few words that would describe my experience with Dr. Patel. Calls not returned, talking down to patients, poor communication, little follow through or follow up. Would absolutely not recommend.

Dr. Aarat Patel seems to want to help but doesn't understand he must listen to each patient. All cases are not the same. He talked over me and never contacted me about lab results. I will just remain in pain from RA. I will not return to him.

Very unknowledgeable in his field. Had to use cell/palm pilot to look up meds. Talked at not to me. Brushed off issues I was trying to explain. In my opinion very uncaring.
