Pre-surgery
Greeted by a team led by DR. KLONSKY, PA JOE and a medical student, I articulated my plans for surgery and as he examined me, we discussed the implications of having the port where it presently was. DR. KLONSKY became aware of my hesitation and concern with the possibility of having the lap-band interfere during surgery and ultimately post-surgery due to its placement.
He agreed to speak to DR. HAROUCHE. I called him on his cell phone and the two spoke for over ten minutes about the procedure, the placement of the band and the implications. DR. KLONSKY explained that he was a previously scheduled surgery and had hours at North Shore Plainview that morning. He told DR HAROUCHE that he would come to the operating room to make any necessary recommendations about the placement of the lap-band. This shows the highest level of commitment, and sacrifice as a physician, since it is hard to be in two places at once.


Although he had a waiting room of patients, I knew that DR. KLONSKY could sense my apprehension and concern. He made me feel comfortable and I was sure that I was in the hands of a wonderful surgeon. He had a great bedside manner and wonderful way of addressing my questions and was able to anticipate what my next questions were before I even asked them. His main concern was making sure that I felt comfortable as his patient and in knowing that he would ensure that he would be available to help if the need arose. He wanted to avoid having to re-vise the lap-band placement post surgery at all costs.

I may not physically see DR. KLONSKY on Friday, June 5th, but I know that he will be an integral part of the process. I look forward to following up with him post-surgery and recommending him to people who wish to undergo the same process I took in order to lose weight to preempt medical conditions and improve my quality of life.

Dr. Klonsky was my surgeon when I needed to have my gallbladder removed. He was attentive and really took his time to make sure I understood the entire procedure and expected after care. He was comforting the day of the surgery (my 1st surgery and I was quite nervous!) and gave great follow-up care. I would highly recommend him if you are facing surgery. I can't complain about the office staff as they were competent. The wait was less than 15 minutes, this is not unreasonable.

Very great doctor. Dr. Klonsky has very informative consultations and helped me make the right choice on getting the Lap Band. He is very easy to talk to and has great bedside manner. Dr. Klonsky also holds a vast knowledge about bariatrics and answered every one of my questions without hesitation. This made me feel at ease and more relaxed. Dr. Klonsky knows his patients and just doesn't forget about you after the surgery. I recommend him to anyone, if you are even thinking of any kind of bariatric surgery he is the one to talk to.

Dr Klonsky is a wonderful doctor. If you choose him as your dr you wont have anything to worry about...he will you the best care on long island!!

I just had my pre-op consultation with Dr. Klonsky for a right side ingroinal hernia. He was everything that the other two (2) posters on this site said that he wasduring my experience/ consultation. I don't want to go as far as to say "Oh - Boy, now I'm looking forward to my surgery", but these comments have put me at great ease as to what to expect from the man. I'm looking forward to another positive posting on my part towards the good doctor after my procedure...

Dr Klonsky is a wonderful surgeon and doctor. He is very easy to talk to, I never felt I couldn't ask him anything. He had many patients but never made you feel like one of the masses, he made you feel like you were very important.

Dr. Klonsky is probably the best doctor I've ever had. My first impression of him was the best from any doctor.He is kind, respectful and funny. He went over his concern for me on being as overweight I was and put me on a pre-op diet and said he'd like to see me lose at least 30-40 lbs PRE-OP (which i did with his encouragement and guidance!) in order to do the surgery safely. He met with me once or twice a month from January to May. He was incredibly encouraging and proud of me throughout my pre-op weight loss and still is now post op. He came to check on me in the hospital and make sure I was doing okay each day and was the last person I saw before I was discharged. Everything about my experience with Dr. K has been nothing short of amazing. I really had the BEST experience throughout anything and I sing the praises of Dr.K to anyone who will sit still long enough to hear me. He is without a doubt my favorite doctor to see
