Biography

Talitha Lisa-Marie Bruney, MD, FACOG, is Associate Program Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency and Medical Director of Comprehensive Family Care Center at Montefiore. She is Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bruney’s clinical focus is on breastfeeding and resident education.After completing her Bachelor of Science in chemistry at Yale University 2004, Dr. Bruney attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2008. She chose Montefiore-Einstein for her postdoctoral training, completing a yearlong internship in obstetrics and gynecology in 2009, and a three-year residency in the same discipline in 2012, acting as administrative chief resident in her final year.Dr. Bruney’s research focuses on maternal depression and opioid abuse. Her original research has been published in reviewed journals and she is a reviewer for the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr. Bruney has been an invited panelist and presenter at several lecture series and conferences.Dr. Bruney is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Her dedication to resident education has been recognized with the National Faculty Award from the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2018 and the Resident Faculty Teaching Award in 2019.
