Dr Omar was very friendly and kind. Being a doctor can’t be easy because people expect you to be right 100% of the time. Who can say that they are right all the time at their job? Unfortunately, it appears someone interpreted Dr Omar’s friendliness as inappropriate and accused him of sexual misconduct. I don’t know what happened, but I do know Dr Omar would hug me goodbye and was always friendly, but never crossed any boundaries. I think it’s important that if this happened to anyone else they should come forward, as it’s not hard to believe that someone could have misinterpreted his actions. I think we live in a day and age where it’s much easier to accuse someone of misconduct but much harder to defend yourself. That’s why if there are more real victims they need to say so. I loved Dr Omar’s personality as he seemed to care more than any other doctor I’ve ever seen. Some of his nurses can be judgmental and snotty while others are quite nice. I honestly don’t think the care the doctor has ordered for me should be judged and commented on by a nurse. That’s between me and my doctor. It’s too bad we all lost a good doctor regardless of what happened.

I have nothing but good care from Dr. Omar. He is knowledgeable, and recommends specialists at times he wants more information. He gives the time you need as a person and has a very good listening ear! It is sad to see some one of good character, care and knowledge leaving so abruptly. May he find peace with this decision and move on to a bright/brighter future! He will be sorely missed!! Thank you for your service and dedication. You are appreciated!

What happened to Dr. Omar? I do not believe he would have retired with so little notice. He is a compassionate kind man. He would not have left his patients without notice. Methodist just lost their best physician and me as a customer.

Dr Omar was extremely hard to get into see. He booked months in advance. You have to see a PA of you need a quick appointment. I just got a letter announcing his retirement effective 10 days ago. I hope he is ok. If he is then shame on Methodist. Wow, no warning and they as much as said in the letter that they don't have the staff at Health West to manage his patients. I saw him for almost 20 years. He helped me through two serious strokes and a diagnosis of Alzheimer's. I will miss him. Methodist can go fly a kite. I will be looking elsewhere for care. How can a reputable hospital system be so unprepared. They must not care. If I am wrong, please fill me in. Mike Hughbanks

I saw Dr. Omar for years but stopped when he seemed to not pay attention to my concerns. He was so hard to get into and I really did not like his PA's.

Dr. Omar is difficult to get into see. He dismisses patient concerns about serious matters as well as the symptoms. He does not make referrals to specialists and prescribes minimal medication which in our family has been inadequate to treat the condition. This resulted in our family member needing to go to the emergency room in a crisis on multiple occasions. The emergency room physician took our family member off the medication prescribed by Dr. Omar. Yes, he is chatty and friendly. So are the cashiers at Chik-fil-a.

Dr. Omar has a bedside personality I wish all doctors had. I consider him the traffic cop of doctors beyond anything basic in healthcare. That's not a criticism as he will direct you to a specialist if you need one. He's at the hospital if you are for any reason to check on your status. Expect an early morning visit. Very early. He's thorough but hard to get into see unless it's an emergency-ish type of situation. Can take months so prepare for that. If you can wait he's worth it. There are so many uncaring and in a rush physicians these days that this is why he is so popular. He won't rush you, so realize he's not rushing other patients either, so bring a book or iPad to distract yourself.
Other doctors would do well to emulate his personality and gentle nature. He's rare these days.

Could never see Dr Omar unless I made a 2 wk notice. Almost always saw a PA. They were very good I must say, but what good is a doctor if you never get to see him when you need him. Who plans to get sick 2 weeks ahead of time.

Dr Omar has been my primary care physician for years. He is very kind and concerned. He does not hesitate to refer you to another doc if the need arises. His office is very busy and difficult to get an appointment but I don't want to go to a doc that has no other patients. An empty waiting room would make me wonder about the quality of the medical staff. I have had serious medical issues and he has always treated the problem correctly. Awesome doctor-I would recommend him highly.

Dr. Omar is the most compassionate doctor I have ever know. He makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world. The only time I have had to wait is when they had to fit me in because I had an emergency. Dr. Omar seems to care more about the humanity side of medicine and less about the monetary side.
