We always used to joke that they should really give you an instruction manual when you have kids. When our son was diagnosed with autism this became even more true. We felt lost for many years trying to find the proper support for him. A place to grow, learn, and become the best version of himself. When a friend recommended The Kahane Center, we never thought it would also become a place for us to grow, learn, and become the best version of ourselves as well.
We began taking the Powers parenting class and the transformation in our household was almost immediate. A simple change of words and a not so simple change in attitude started to take place. We are still growing and learning. We remind each other daily to focus on our process as parents not the product of getting our kids to do x,y, and z.
Taking the time to build and practice our skills with Dr. Kahane has really transformed they way we parent and the way we interact with each other. I wish everyone could experience the knowledge and support we've gained from joining!

We have been using Dr Kahane since about 7 years ago. My daughter was experiencing terrible tantrums both at home and at school and after many therapists and interventions we were at a loss. We ended up having to take her out of her private school and putting her into public school

Enter Dr Kahane and things quickly changed. Dr Kahane’s skill and expertise (we call it magic) really worked wonders and within a year, my daughters tantrums were a thing of the past. She was tantrum free, controlled and ready to go back.

No words can describe our gratitude and wonder to Dr Kahane. We feel so fortunate that she was in our area and able to help our daughter turn her school career around, improve her self confidence and set her on a great path for life.

My child has a complex set of challenges and advantages, making for a tricky path to a happy balance/experience — socially and academics. There is much work to do, and Dr. Kahane has us on an optimistic trajectory. It won’t be an easy fix, and she and parent teamed up so we are both guiding my child with so much care and consistency. In the education system lots of people will want to pathologize and label and limit a child. This practice finds their strengths as well as problems. Treatment should lift a child up and support them, and after months of treatment I see that happening. Starting a relationship with a therapist has risks, it could be a mismatch. Dr. Kahane nurtures growth and support, mixed with real world work. I have real hope for my sweet child to move through these difficulties with her and come out a happy person.

She does not see your child, she sees the check that you have just placed in her box in the waiting room. Save your money and find a practice where they actually care about people not just making a buck!

My family and I have been working with Dr. Kahane since March of 2020. I was referred to Dr. Kahane when my six year old was diagnosed with hyperactivity, OCD and anxiety. The work that I have done with Dr. Kahane and her staff over the subsequent months has been profound and it has helped all aspects of my relationship with my two young children. Dr. Kahane has helped me to figure out how to better navigate sibling rivalry and power struggles and her staff has helped my daughter to develop better emotional regulation. I was seriously struggling with my parenting before I started working with Dr. Kahane. The work that I have done with her has led me to have a far more calm and rewarding parenting experience and it is helping my children to work cooperatively with me and each other. We are very lucky to have been sent to The Kahane Center, I highly recommend them and the compassionate care that they provide.

I have no words for how helpful Dr. Kahane (and her amazing team of therapists) have been for my family. Dr. Kahane’s evaluation skills are top notch, helping us better understand the core issues. We have done parenting sessions with her, which has positively transformed how we approach helping our kids grow. Our kids have been in both private therapy and group and we have definitely seen their social skills and problem solving skills improve. We are forever grateful to her and her wonderful staff.

Dr. Kahane has worked with my family for years and is by far the best psychologist I have ever met with. She is amazing at what she does and it justifies her rates
