Dr. Yoneda has been involved in my medical care at crucial points in my life since I was 10 years old. I’m 45 now. I look back now and realize how lucky I am to have had my mom get Yoneda's office to squeeze me in for a consult when I was 10, and having Yoneda examine my broken arm issue so thoroughly. Here's my history with Yoneda:

1. 10 years old. Broke arm. Casted. It didn’t heal straight…my left forearm was bowed. Ortho surgeons in my hometown said they’d need to break it again and recast. Yoneda said. “no you don’t have to rebreak, he’s 10, it will straighten out as he grows”. He was right. Saved me a broken arm.

2. 20 years old. I had a complicated wrist injury where I was informed I’d need a strange type of bone graph, pins all over and through my wrist, cast, 6 months recovery, etc. Yoneda provides a second opinion and said: “you don’t need all that. I’ll insert a screw, Xenogeneic bone graft (ocean coral), get you in a removable wrist brace, some physio and you’ll be fine. Recovery was about 3 weeks. Amazing.

3. After years of soccer. My left knee had had it. Yoneda did 2 orthoscopy surgeries on it over 6 years, both were very successful, made a difference, and it’s been doing fine. Lots of damage inside I have to manage, but that was all self-inflicted  soccer…. Sigh…

4. Many Visco supplementation injections later, and my knees are still ok.

Many other small misc interactions with Yoneda over the years, and always helpful. Yes his bedside manner isn’t the best, but patients should not be there for bedside manner. If you want high quality bedside manner and be pampered….go to a private clinic and pay for it.

My experience with Yoneda is that he is a genius, and I don’t say this lightly. Amazing level of knowledge and orthopedic skills. The BC medical system is lucky to have him.

A year ago, I underwent major surgery on my right leg that required 66 staples and presented me with with a slight limp as well as swelling and pain in my right foot. Four months ago, after my first visit to Dr. Yoneda, he listened to my concerns, then helped me visualize the problems related to the muscle loss in my right leg/foot. His non-intrusive approach/treatment have resulted in the pain and swelling in my right foot being drastically reduced. I now exercise 60 minutes every day non-stop on my stationary bicycle; furthermore, now I go for long walks with my wife without experiencing any pain or limping in my right foot. Initially I was concerned that another operation may be needed on my right foot; however, Dr. Yoneda’s successful treatment has alleviated my stress, healed my foot, and addressed my concerns. I strongly recommend Dr. Yoneda for his extensive knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Bruce Yoneda is the most genuine orthopaedic specialist I have ever met. His listening skills are second to none. Dr. Yoneda takes the time for EVERY patient who enters his office. When you think all hope is lost, Dr. Yoneda will literally save you. Always a true advocate for his patients, Dr. Yoneda will stay with you and help guide/navigate his patients through the underworld of insurance companies. Countless patients, including myself, have been given back their life, and the ability to live their best life due to the unique and refreshing perspective offered by Dr. Yoneda. Even after decades of practicing medicine, Dr. Yoneda looks for the best and/or new approach for his patients. Please do not be dismayed by the 4 star rating for punctuality...it means that EVERY patient has the necessary time taken, and never is any patient rushed out the door. If given the opportunity to see Dr. Yoneda, take it...your life will only get better.

Thank you so much Dr. Yoneda for your continued care of both my knees over the last 10 years. Thanks to his incredible knowledge of injectables, I have been able to avoid bilateral knee replacements. I had seen a previous surgeon at Rebalance who was very curt and killed me when he gave his injection, felt like he hit my bone. But Dr. Yoneda's injection was fairly painless and I can tell he does thousands of them a year. He is always courteous and spends as much time with me as I need to explain what he is doing.

Been seeing Dr Yoneida for 10 years. Excellent doctor. His help has enabled me to postpone a knee replacement

Avoid using this doctor! I have been in hospital for 10 days so far and have 6 weeks of IV antibiotics ahead due to a staph infection in my knee following a synvisc injection at Dr. Yoneda's office. He has no regard for proper hygiene when treating patients. He did not wash or sanitize his hands between patients or wear gloves and the vials and needle tips were strewn across his desk with folders and papers. He was wearing a greasy, dirty ball cap that he touched often. I reported pain in my knee to him for 3 weeks and he never once examined my knee or suggested anything other than additional cortisone which I have now learned actually prevented my body from fighting the infection. This was the shoddiest care I've ever received from any doctor and I will be reporting him.

Female patient of Dr. Yoneda for over 20 years starting in my late 20's. He's very knowledgeable and has always been very respectful and caring towards me.
