Dr. Rockwood treated me for general anxiety. The outcome was better than I could have possible hoped for.

My experience with Dr Lucas Rockwood was not at all good. Our sessions seemed as they were about him studying my condition not treating me as a person or assisting me in getting better. I felt more like a psychological curiosity than a patient.
In a typical session I would talk about whatever was going on in my life while he would take notes and occasionally interject labels about my symptoms (IE noting a part of my brain or the psychological term for whatever I was experiencing) and when I stopped talking he would stare at me without offering feedback. If I requested some practical, applicable advice (such as how to cope with my symptoms) he seemed put out, as if this was an annoying interruption into his 'research'. He apparently viewed my sessions as an experiment to see if his 'schema therapy' could solve all manner of psychological problems. (It didn't, it won't.)
Dr Rockwood possessed shocking little empathy especially for a therapist and displayed a level of arrogance that FAR outstripped the competence he brought to bare on my problems. What little feedback he reluctantly offered was the kind of offhand, useless advice a disinterested layperson might proffer akin to 'just focus on something positive.' (Some of his 'advice' I would subsequently come to learn was simply and abjectly wrong.)
The final straw was during a session when I was truly desperate and his response was sarcastic and borderline mocking. Let me repeat that because I don't want there to be any doubt that that is what I meant to say: he, a trained psychologist, was sarcastic and borderline mocking.
Looking back if I were not in such a bad place I would have changed therapists sooner. I wholly recommend therapy because Dr Rockwood didn't turn me away from it entirely and my new therapist has helped me enormously. But obviously I strongly don't recommend Dr Lucas Rockwood.

Great doctor. I have been seeing him for about 2 years for bipolar 1 disorder and GAD. He is extremely professional, always at appointments, and does not try to push views onto you. He also responds to text messages and phone calls very promptly. He really helped me overcome some big obstacles in my life. When I first saw him I was a wreck, but now I feel great and I am happy where my life is going. He has a great memory as well. I highly recommend him.
