Dr Spotts and her staff are amazing. I would highly recommend them to anyone. My appointments were always on time, Dr Spotts explained all the options to me, listened to my concerns and answered all my questions very patiently even after me asking her same things few times. I couldn’t be happier with the post-surgery results. Thank you Dr Spotts and your staff for the great care you’ve given me.

I went to Dr. Spotts for a second opinion and immediately decided to switch over to her office because my experience was so great. Not only was her office staff friendly and organized, but Dr. Spotts spent plenty of time going over all of my pathology results and explaining everything to me in detail. My surgery experience was equally great. I was in very little pain afterwards and believe that was due to Dr. Spott's great skill as a surgeon. I am very happy I switched over and would highly recommend her to anyone!

I saw Dr. Spotts AFTER a DIFFERENT Breast surgeon, (in Nevada) had wrongly diagnosed me with breast cancer, did a partial mastectomy, took lymph nodes, and implanted a radiation port. It was at what was suppose to be my first radiation treatment at the oncologist, where I learned I never had cancer at all, and the first surgeon wrongly diagnosed me. There are not words for what I went through, and continue to go through, After learning all of that that, I was referred to Dr. Spotts, and very thankful that she took me on as a patient. I did not have much trust in doctors for a while because of that other surgeon, and I dreaded going to ANY doctor.. Dr. Spotts carefully went over my records, and took the time to explain everything to me. She was patient and answered all of my questions. She never rushed me, or her staff. I have chronic nerve damage from the surgeon that I saw before her, and I am still being treated for it, years later. That first surgeon that I had before her, was in a different office in Nevada. Start with Dr. Spotts. I was told by other patients, (before I saw her) that she is not "warm and fuzzy", but that she knows what she is doing. I would take that over warm and fuzzy. Where ever you do happen go, always get a second opinion, but NOT from a doctor in the same office, as I did at the office I went to before her. I have since moved away, but Dr. Spotts and Sharon made me feel like I truly mattered, at a terrible, terrible time, and my family and I appreciate that. I only gave four stars for the staff because the people answering the phone were short. In their defense, it is a very busy office.

Biography

EDUCATION Josette Spotts, MD, FACS received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Michigan State University and received her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1982. She completed a five-year residency in general surgery in 1987 at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals. She received her board certification in general surgery in 1988. EXPERIENCE Dr. Spotts is a general surgeon at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) with a focus in treating diseases of the breast. Prior to joining CCCN, Dr. Spotts worked in private practice as a general surgeon in Port Huron, Michigan until 1994 when she moved to Las Vegas. Since 2000, she has specialized in breast surgery exclusively, treating cancerous and non-cancerous diseases of the breast. PATIENT PHILOSOPHY I feel it is very important that the breast surgeon takes control of the patient’s care, and that as their surgeon; I personally explain the surgical options, the surgical procedures and the potential additional treatments that may be recommended to the patient. The care of patients with breast disease, particularly those diagnosed with breast cancer, requires patience and empathy, which is what I expect of both myself and my office staff and that I believe we deliver on a daily basis. PERSONAL Dr. Spotts has been married since 1990 to Andres Resto, MD, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and has two sons.
