Biography
EDUCATION Josette Spotts, MD, FACS received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Michigan State University and received her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1982. She completed a five-year residency in general surgery in 1987 at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals. She received her board certification in general surgery in 1988. EXPERIENCE Dr. Spotts is a general surgeon at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) with a focus in treating diseases of the breast. Prior to joining CCCN, Dr. Spotts worked in private practice as a general surgeon in Port Huron, Michigan until 1994 when she moved to Las Vegas. Since 2000, she has specialized in breast surgery exclusively, treating cancerous and non-cancerous diseases of the breast. PATIENT PHILOSOPHY I feel it is very important that the breast surgeon takes control of the patient’s care, and that as their surgeon; I personally explain the surgical options, the surgical procedures and the potential additional treatments that may be recommended to the patient. The care of patients with breast disease, particularly those diagnosed with breast cancer, requires patience and empathy, which is what I expect of both myself and my office staff and that I believe we deliver on a daily basis. PERSONAL Dr. Spotts has been married since 1990 to Andres Resto, MD, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and has two sons.
