After an MVA and serious injury to my head/neck/jaw, I saw Dr. Granquist for problems that were intensifying. After physical therapy, injections, and other treatments, I had jaw surgery and my jaw condition improved and stayed that way until this day. Dr. Granquist was very knowledgeable and caring about my situation, and it was worth the trip to see him multiple times. There was nothing he could do for my constant tinnitus, but an improvement in the right direction was a great outcome. I am thankful for his expertise, skill, and in helping to improve my life.

Dear Penn 'Jaw Doctors",
Learn how to administer prolotherapy or you are useless. If someone has a subluxating jaw and you tell them nothings wrong with them, that doesn't make you a oood doctor, that makes you ignorant and poorly trained. How much longer will the medical community and patients themselves defend this type of ignorance? Prolotherapy has been around since BCC times in some form or another. Now it is a highly specialized treatment for tightening ligaments and tendons for a variety if problems. For very painful hyperextending jaw the evidence has been in for over 75 years regarding it's effectiveness: IT WORKS. We are onto you now. We know the real reason you are ineffective, steal our money and aren't helping us: you don't get a kickback from the companies that make the highly-affordable chemicals used in prolotherapy. How disturbing.. No, Dr. Grandquist is not a good 'jaw doctor'. He is a joke. I'm sorry. He seems like a nice person, but being a good 'jaw doctor' requires more.....much more. Get off the f"""g pot.

He was very impatient with me. He had little time for questions and I felt like he just wanted to leave the room. He told me that a symptom I was having had nothing to do with TMJ but it's cited everywhere as a symptom. Not recommended...

If you need a mouthpiece for 'TMJ' (bruxism, lockjaw) this doctor will certainly help you. If you have a prolonged jaw- disorder, expect no help. To say this doctor is knowledgeable about jaw-disorders is like saying that the person who constructs your hamburgers at Burger King is a chef......but then, you might be one of the millions who are led to believe that you have 'neuralgia' (or, the more demeaningly diagnosed, 'atypical facial pain'). It is unfortunate. Though, unfortunately, the incentive for TMJ doctors evolve within the full scope of jaw disorders will never come to pass. Time to pay the bills.

I appreciate his conservative methods of healing without resulting to surgery. I find him to be highly intelligent. I am so thankful I live in a world where minds like him exist. I hate pain.

Have been seeing Granquist for over a year at PENN U. He is very knowledgable. I have been to a few surgeons before him that seemed to have no idea of a plan. Had damage to Lingual Nerve (severed) We finally did surgery last Thursday. He found and fixed the problem. (hopefully) So far so good. Currently not in any pain. We will see once the nerve heals. Dr. Granquist is highly recommended!!

I had tmj surgury this past Thursday at The U Penn Hospital. This was a very long time coming. Dr. Granquist performed the surgury with what seems like so far, great success. I will check back, but so far it looks like he may be my miracle worker. Living pain free may now be a reality.
