Dr. Hugo Davilla at Florida Cancer Specialists is a charlatan!
I became a patient of his in March 2023. I was seeking treatment for an enlarged prostate.
After six agonizingly slow months of “test and bill” I gave him permission to perform an Aquablation procedure on my prostate at Cleveland Clinic, Vero Beach, Fl. on Sept. 5, 2023.
My intuition told me repeatedly that I was making a bad decision. Should have listened to my gut. Three months after the surgery my prostate showed no signs of improvement. In early December I found another urologist who, upon examination of my prostate with an endoscope, determined that there was scar tissue blocking the passageway between my prostate and my bladder. That scar tissue was created by Dr. Davilla’s inept surgical skills. Now I need another prostate procedure to correct the damage done by Dr. Davilla.
Do not, and I repeat, do not put your trust in Dr. Davilla and Florida Cancer Specialists.

Dr. Davilas complete staff were fantastic. I had a problem on a Sunday evening and called his office Monday first thing. They told me to get right over there. They got me right in. I have been going there now for a series of test etc and again the whole staff has been unbelievably helpful and friendly.

Dr Davila treatment of my kidney stones and prostate cancer was well below what I expected. He is really hands off, no bedside manner and leaves all important visits to his staff.
Test results were horribly delayed even for a second option appointment.
I would not recommend him to anyone and will be corresponding with the management of his organization.

I went to Davila in January. I had been told by another urologist that I needed a TURP procedure to clear the obstruction in ny prostate. I understand that Dr Davila performed aquablation. After several visits I never got to see Dr Davila again. On April 4 his PA told me I had 50% chance of cancer and could have my entire prostate removed

Lots to say!! Nothing good!!! Both doctor and staff are unprofessional and lack empathy!! Doctor was unprepared during follow up exam. Never addressed my chief complaint. Staff doubled book procedure I was in office for. Needless to say I was in extreme pain and almost had an accident. Humiliation and lack of concern. Worst of all Doctor was made aware and could care less. As a career professional myself All I can say is DONT GO to HIM. I wouldn’t trust him with my health.

Only game in town for the procedure he did on me. Painful experience and bled for days. Antibiotic was not available at pharmacy and his office went home for the weekend without fixing the problem

Called three times to leave a message updating my phone number. Person answers the phone and says "i'm checking out a patient" and puts you on hold. Never asked who I was or what I wanted. Next thing you know, you are on hold. Bizarre! Called three times, same result. Each time I got tired of holding and hung up. Very rude. I cannot imagine what you have to go through to make an appointment.

This urologist is interested in speed, how many patients he can see, and has absolutely no caring or bedside manner. He was unable to get complete records from the hospital he works out of in two weeks time for my office visit. This is a huge inadequacy in his practice. Being prepared is a must when making a diagnosis and plan. I found too many people in his office during covid, and a woman screening patients in waiting room yelling out your hippa protected personal information so that all patients heard it. A high speed visit followed with him seemingly in a hurry, stating he did not have all of the hospital records yet and I should wait a few minutes while obtaining them. Is not 2 weeks enough time before appointment? I briefly saw this doctor before procedure. I was not aware of device that was placed until after procedure.I woke up to find doctor left before I could find out what was done, what was found and my questions were answered by a nurse. This is inexcusable. You stay with a patient and give them findings, results, and procedure.
He nor his staff saw me while in the hospital during recovery.
I became very uncomfortable at home and ended up in an emergency room. My instructions were to tell this doctor to see me and remove device. Which I did.
As it was removed, I experienced terrible spasmodic, sharp pain. I was not forewarned . I asked if he has a pain reliever, but he stated he was out of it. An ice pack given to me( modern medicine?) and I was exited out into my friends car for a 45 minute ride home. The pain became intolerable and my friend brought me to the er and I was treated for acute pain. Released home with medications.
Device removal is painful and can escalate in time. This doctor, who made sure to tell me he is the surgeon, failed in every way of holding up the hippocratical oath, compassion, educating patients, and taking time to explain it all.
I do not recommend this “ doctor”. I can say that because I too practiced in the field of medicine. You should never be too busy to treat, educate, and show respect and compassion to human beings. I will never return.

Dr. Davila performed successful robotic assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy on me. Dr. Davila is very professional and personable. He explained the procedure and answered all questions. There was no pressure and he explained all options. I would highly recommend Dr. Davila
