1. he is not honest, at least in my case. I had unnecessary surgery in 4 days after my first appointment with him even though all my imaging studies indicated benign lesions (proved by pathology post-op). I should have listened to my ob/gyn to observe and try alternative method to treat fibroid and ovarian cyst. He pushed me really hard for the surgery. He made lots home calls to me which is unusual for a doctor.
2. He will dump you after you pass surgical recovery period (4-6 weeks). Then you are left alone facing complications of surgery done by him.
3. His medical knowledge and surgical technique is outdated. He is 65, trained by old school. Unless you have a confirmed diagnose of cancer, please find another doctor if your cancer diagnose is not clear cut.
4. Don't get fooled by his credentials. In reality, he is old and outdated. He seems desperate to grab all the patients possible to perform surgery regardless if the surgery is necessary or not.
5. I regret to remove my female parts. Now I am left alone with no help from him facing complications from surgery. Removing female parts increases death from heart attack, stroke, cancer, dementia, osteoporosis, etc., and life span is shortened. None of those were discussed with me by him before surgery. He doesn't care about his patients' well being. All he care is to perform surgery on you. Once your surgery is done, he is done with you. I regret to have surgery done by him because before surgery I can have a normal life span, but after surgery, my life span is going to be shortened.

He was very helpful. He removed a extremely large teratoma from my wife, though he was more concerned about her RCC Stage 4, which another doctor removed after teratoma was removed...

On my first visit to Dr. Weiner after my cancer diagnosis, I disliked him. He came across as brusque and unfriendly. However, he was a little warmer on subsequent appointments, performed an excellent surgery, and never gave me any fluff -- he's practical and straightforward, and if you've done your research he will talk to you without condescension, answer questions that are to the point, and even crack jokes. His bedside manner isn't for someone who needs coddling, but I appreciated and respected it.

Dr. Weiner and his staff are great! He has the friendliest office staff I've ever encountered and his chemo nurse, Patty, is awesome! I was dx at a relatively young age with ovarian cancer and what I think some people may mistake for arrogance is actually a lack of it. He's pretty laid back and casual, but he commands, not demands, a lot of well deserved respect. He is straight forward and actually kind of funny and he'll answer any questions I ask. I had a hysterectomy and chemo and he and his staff as well as the R.O. surgircal short stay staff took good care of me throughout a long and scary process. He never acted superior to me or my husband, or my sister, or anyone else I dragged along and would always answer even their questions. Ultimately all I would have cared about was that he is a great doc, but fortunately he and the women in his office are great in general too. I had a lot less fear facing ovarian cancer because of him.

Very insensitive and dismissive. This was a scary experience.

I was scared to learn I had cancer; but after mtg Dr. Weiner & discussing my options I knew I was in good hands. The surgery went very and recovery was a breeze. When I reached my 5 yr recovery anniv. it was bittersweet. I wanted to continue with Dr. W, but felt I should make room for the next person that needed his expertise.

Agree that he is a skilled doctor, but I have to strongly disagree that he has a great personality. Once you talk to him he is ok, but the common impression you will get every time you have to meet with him is that he is arrogant, hard to read, etc. Characteristics that no one wants when facing a cancer medical condition. He is definitely not a peoples person.

Though it was obvious that Dr. Weiner is an extremely skilled surgeon, he had a wonderful personality and was very helpful during a stressful time in my life. He invited my husband to be involved in every step -- discussions, examinations, etc., which I found to be of great comfort. He performed a total hysterectomy. Before the surgery, he answered all our questions and dispelled our fears. My surgery outcome couldn't have been better. Because it was a total hysterectomy, he had to "build" certain "important" parts, which my husband and I can both attest was well done. No issues whatsoever with an uneventful recovery. My only complaint is that I can't use Dr. Weiner as my regular OB/GYN! As a side note, I can't say enough about Beaumont Hospital also. Whether there for a test, minor, or major surgery, I have always found the staff to be professional, helpful, and compassionate. If given a choice, I ALWAYS go to Beaumont.

This doctor had the nerve to walk out when I expressed concern that he had too many resident doctors in for my gynalogical exam. He never asked me if this was okay. Without a word he walked out and turned his back to me when I left the exam room. Also he didn't help and protect me from hospital staff after my operation. The second day after cancer surgery he told me he was discharging me because I obviously wasn't going to get better in the hospital's hostile environment but never said a word to the nursing staff that abused me. He was consistently uncaring, arrogant, and uninvolved with my problems.
