Comprehensive approach to treating the psychiatric issues. Listens intently and therefore goes beyond each appointment time. Best to secure the first morning slots for appointments. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. He is also highly regarded by treatment centers as patient centered. All of my referred patients thrived after their treatments with him. For me, he was a life savor!

By the time you get done waiting for over a hour or more at times you really don't feel like telling him anything, you just want to get out of there. All he does is scribble in his notebook all smug and self righteous. He did help me over the phone though.

First of all, expect to wait over an hour in their waiting area after your scheduled appointment time. Expect to awkwardly sit in a room with this man while he spends the majority of the time writing, reading and typing on the computer. If you forget to fill out the questionnaire, expect him to belittle you (even though he makes you wait over an hour past your appointment time!). When telling him of the side effects of any medications he's prescribed to you, expect him to act as if you were lying. Expect to be bait and switched if you are paying cash. Expect to be given a handout on breathing exercises that one surely has already tried numerous times before consulting the help of a professional.

Now, this was my first experience with this type of speciality so I thought maybe this was supposed to be typical? After I obtained health insurance, I changed doctors. Upon visiting the new doctor, I found the experience completely different. I walked out confident that she understood my problem and it was being addressed. I only waited 10 minutes to get in, was talked to and respected as a person and the appointment went a lot quicker with more being done.

I can't believe some people say that he is caring. He was the rudest person that I had ever met. My son saw him for 6 months. He had him on so many meds and seemed like he was getting worse. I was very concerned for my son so I went to an appointment with him to ask a few questions about my concerns. We went into his room and didn't even acknowledge me, which was fine, my son was his patient. He asked my son several questions about how he was doing on the meds. Never once looked at him, just kept his head down writing. After awhile I told him I had a few concerns and felt like my son was getting worse. He excused my son from the office and than stood in front of me and said " I hope you know that this is not a therapy season." I was stunned but asked him a few questions about his medication and how might I help him. Told him some days I just get so frustrated and neede to know what I could do. He asked me if I would get frustrated if someone had a heart condition and I said no. He raised his voice and stated that my son has an illness so I shouldn't get frustrated. I once again said I was concerned and he asked where I lived, which I told him. He went into his filing cabinet and gave me a paper and told me to see a therapist. I was furious. I bit my tongue and walked out. I didn't tell my son for he liked him and I didn't want to confuse him more. At this time he put my son on Vivans. A week later my son was sitting in a chair crying and said he felt like he was going to have a heart attack. I wanted to take him to the hospital but he said he got an appointment with Anderson.. He came home crying and said f-him. I asked what happened and he told me " All this guy wants to do is write more prescriptions. He didn't even care how he felt and wrote him a script for something else. I then told my son how he treated me and what he said to me. I am SO glad that he was able to see on his own what a joke he is and no longer sees him!,,,

I started seeing Dr. Anderson after I was having trouble concentrating and sleeping at night (averaging 2 - 4 hrs per night). Since my children have ADD, their Dr. recommended I see Dr. Anderson. He initially prescribed Ritalin, then after a while Adderall along with an anti-depressant. It seemed to work for a while, but not that great. Adjusting medication levels had a only short term effect. Several months after I was laid off from Boeing, I also noticed my overall concentration level increased, I was sleeping well and didn’t have symptoms of depression. Also due a new job with hours that wouldn't work with Dr. Anderson's hours, I had to switch doctors around this time. I ended up stopping the antidepressant and felt better, then stopped the Adderall and felt much better – the fidgety feeling and other negative side effects were gone and I haven’t been on the medication since.
While I think Dr. Anderson overall is a good doctor, I believe I was suffering the effects of a very hostile work environment (had to do 60 hrs work in 40 hrs while everybody else in the group did 60 hrs work in 60 hrs – a form a retaliation from my management for management above them moving me into my position due to advanced computer skills over one of his “favorites”). I think this is something Dr. Anderson missed as side effects from a hostile work environment can take a year or more to develop with depression and concentration problems symptomatic of ADD are part of that. I believe he concentrated on the symptoms while not finding the underlying root cause. What the root cause is should be a question that needs has to be asked.
Getting an appointment at the day/time I needed was generally easy, but be prepared to wait. I found he always ran a good 30-45 minutes behind schedule, sometimes an hour. He does take very good notes during the session and refers back to them often. Also, as I have since learned, be prepared to do research on your own and ask the Dr. Anderson questions – he’s very easy to talk to, listens well and follows up with his own questions. Also if you have any reaction to medication, tell Dr. Anderson immediately – I had a very fast and high blood pressure spike to one medication and he immediately stopped and changed it.

I saw Dr. Anderson for several years with an ADHD diagnosis. While he initially pushes his brand of cognitive therapy, he won't keep trying if you're not interested. While you can typically get an appointment rather quickly, my years of experience going to him demonstrated that every appointment runs roughly one hour or more behind schedule. So prepare to hangout in the waiting room when he's backed up. They've tweaked how they file insurance claims (with Aetna at least) which caused the rate to skyrocket into ~$150 per visit territory. I have to say that he was a doctor I would recommend and it's great that he has a website (it's amazing how helpful that is).

I'm a bit confused as to the negative comments. I have been a patient for several years now and have only experienced care and concern. There is a wait but never trust a skinny chef or an unoccupied psychiatrist.Dr.Anderson has always only carefully prescribed my medication and has monitored it the entire time of therapy. He has become increasingly involved in my treatment and attentive. I think that some of those who have experienced so called bad experiences maybe don't put their own health first as they cannot seem to wait. Others with bad experiences seem to have an "idea" of a medication they "want" to be on and may not be given the satisfaction of being prescribed their "choice" medication. His job is not to create or fuel addictions but to heal mental health issues and if you know so much more than him perhaps you didn't really want his help anyway. Love Susie and Lola in the office, very nice ladies.

Do not allow Dr. Anderson to provide services for patients under 25 as he has zero capability to respond appropriately to mental illness in teens and young adults. And hope to god that you are never left at his mercy while committed to a local hospital. He has little compassion for the people he is supposed to be treating. Not interested in the hows and whys, just wants to throw medication at problems until it sticks.

I have been seeing Dr. Anderson for many years. He is a very profesional and caring Doctor. He understands that patients take cues from body language and expression and so he limits these on purpose to help his patients. Do not mistake that for uncaring. He's not interested in just prescribing meds, he wants the patients to use cognitive therapy too.
