It’s a tough job finding the right medication and dosage of controlled substances for depressed folks that want answers quickly. Dr Shashek cares about the health and safety of her patients - and applies a senior level of experience in the process to make the right choices as early as possible - I trust her.

My husband and me have been seeing Dr. Shashek for years. We live in the south county area and originally started seeing her at her location in west county. When she moved from there to the St. Charles/St. Peters area we followed her. So we drive over 30 minutes one way now to see her. This is how happy we are with her as our psychiatrist. Some of the comments on here surprise me! I have never even remotely seen what is being said by her. I know some psychiatrists will also do therapy as well. When I asked her about this she made it clear that she only does PSYCHIATRY ! (working with meds etc.) I see a separate therapist for counseling. We are very happy with her!!!

I warn you, do not go to this doctor!! She never seemed very motivated to help me get through things. Only to move around my meds. She ended up threatening me over text messages that she would charge me more money than was originally agreed upon if she had to do more paperwork at $25 a page! She wrote a letter for my work with all of my personal information on it and taped it to the front of the entire building, not her office mind you, outside where anyone could have gotten it. That's a HIPPA violation my friends. Now she refuses to fill my medications because I made a HIPPA claim against her. She is a joke. Again, do not go to her!

Do not go to this doctor. She does not care about you. She simply wants to slap a quick label on you (without taking the time to listen and get to know you), give you meds, and get paid. If you want someone to care, see a talk therapist. This lady will affect your ability to get life insurance at a good rate and will give you a wide array of mind-altering drugs that don't work (unless you consider weight gain and sleep paralysis "working"). She will not talk to you via phone about drug questions or needing a refill. You have to come in and pay her for every little thing. Awful - just awful!!!

Do NOT go to this doctor. I have never been treated so poorly by a professional. Refused to work with me because of medications I take that were prescribed by another MD (who no longer takes my insurance which is why I switched). Dr. Shashek was condescending, refused to offer me any other referrals and made me feel like some sort of drug-seeker. Horrible stiff, uptight manner. Unprofessional as she would not offer me any suggestions as to other professionals who would take my insurance. DO NOT SEE HER unless you want to be belittled.
