Dr. McKeon is a brilliant neurologist and trust me, I've seen a few. He's kind and compassionate. He was able to diagnose a very rare neurological disease and was able to find the right medication combination to treat it. I drive 7 hours to see him and I won't see anyone else. This man is a gem.

McKeon gave me the brush-off. He attributed my symptoms to my lifestyle. He failed to share my records with his fellow Mayo doctors. And he refused to acknowledge that a second opinion might even be helpful, despite the fact that all the other doctors I've seen have found physical issues.

Our family found Dr McKeon to be first rate. My son has been struggling with personality problems for years. He refuses to take responsibility for his problems and believes every crackpot theory going. Dr McKeon helped my wife and I understand what we are dealing with. I hope one day our son will realize how compassionate and helpful Dr McKeon is.

The man claims to do a full blood panel and instead tests for five basic things, such as CBC and folate -- stuff any generalist tests for and certainly far from comprehensive or even neurology-specific. Then, if you ask him why he blithely ignored conducting crucial and obvious tests, he waves you off. The patient is merely a blank to him, a walking vacancy. Never have I seen a doctor so flagrantly ignore a person's well-documented medical history and particular needs.

Thought he knew everything in the world, refused to listen to the patient even when the patient was armed with legitimate research and personal tests and scans attesting to his opinion. Blustery, arrogant. Decides your case without really integrating your history -- he goes according to the pattern he has more or less already traced in his head for your case. He creates a character of you, and that's the person he treats. The real you never gets heard or helped.

I had seen doctors for years and Dr. McKeon was my last resort. He was very polite and respectful. Did not dismiss me and listened to how I was feeling. He found out what was wrong and created a care plan. I have since moved far away and can't find any doctors that even come close to the quality. I still go back up to the Mayo to see him because I know that my care is truly his highest priority. Mayo is very organized and methodical. When you have a chronic disease that is not well know and have been repeatedly dismissed, having some answers is everything.

Dr. McKeon is the most compassionate, thorough, doctor I have ever worked with. He works in collaboration with the patient. He returns calls personally. He worked with me for many months and with many referrals and treatments at Mayo Clinic before determining that I have Stiff Person Syndrome. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. McKeon.
