Do NOT go to him! I met Dr. Donath almost four years ago when I was 17. I had sustained a neck injury. The second I went to him, I got worse. He did the standard chiropractic care for $360 for about 10 minutes of his time, including this nerve flossing technique that made my radial nerve pain in my arm way worse. Since chiropractic care did not work, he talked me into paying over $5000 for 25 sessions of decompression therapy even when I had the smallest disc bulge in my neck. Worst decision of my life.
He gave me zero instructions on how to use the machine and put the weight on the machine way too high. I am so mad at myself that I did not get off. He made my neck so much worse, the nerve pain in my arm worse, and now I have this sensation that my eyes feel like they are falling out which makes it very hard to sleep. And this is four year later. I have told Dr. Donath this, and he has taken zero accountability.
He tried to fear monger me with his book that says if you hurt your neck or back even once, it disrupts something called the pump mechanism in your spine and your neck or back will continue to get worse and worse and the only way to fix it is get do his spinal decompression. This gave me so much anxiety and made me feel like I had no other options.
His staff is poorly trained. They were not careful with the decompression machines, frequently forgot what weight I was using, and did not make sure the weight was ok before leaving the room. Dr. Donath never listened to me and instead talked over me to say how great of a doctor he is and how I was getting so much better (when I was not). I told him I felt like my neck was actually in more pain and he said that was totally normal and it is called centralization. No it was not. The weight was too high! I am heart-broken and am looking into suing him for severely negatively affecting my life.
