The only reason I gave 2 stars f/ staff is because his nurse, Stuart, is so very nice and helpful. it is his tech that is despicable. She constantly chews that gum and has an arrogant attitude. We've been going there now for 4 years and not ONE TIME has she EVER been personable. To be working in a cancer center, one would think the employees would be compassionate, warm, happy, and make you feel at ease. NOT HER!

His professionalism and personal manner reflect not only on himself and his associate physicians but on Texas Oncology and premier caregivers.

Not the best nor the worst. Wait time can be long. Time with doctor is too short.

The wait time is entirely too long in the exam room.
Dr. Fleischauer comes in pleasant, with a smile on his face, makes conversation to put you at ease, and explains things in a way they are easy to understand.

Besides being kind and gentle, Dr. Fleischauer is also very smart and knows his stuff. He is both my Dr. and my daughters Dr. and we both just love him to death. He goes above and beyond most of the time.

As a person, I hope he succeeds in life. But as a doctor, I hope he quits. He needs to seriously consider giving up his practice as a doctor unless he makes some serious changes. He might be a nice guy, but he has too many strikes against him to continue working in such a critical field. People's lives are at stake, and I would never in my life recommend him to anyone I loved who was sick with cancer. He gives you very little time, shows little care, checks you off his list, gives (bad) advice on a whim, and in my family's experience, he withholds telling the severity of the diagnosis. Meanwhile, he's making lots of money and, whether it's true or not, you get the feeling that he cares more about that than the lives of his patients.

Dr. Scott L. Fleischauer treated (if you can call it that) my father for his cancer. It was Stage IV and very serious. He did not provide us with all of the information we needed, rather he gave us false hope all the way up until the day before he died (only a month after he was diagnosed). He told us that we had every reason to expect that he will respond well to chemo and be given "years and years" to live. That was a fantasy, and one I wish we had not been given the hope to expect. The reality was that he was so much sicker than Dr. Fleischauer realized. Why he, the person who is supposed to be able to see and know exactly how sick he was, wasn't aware of the extreme nature of his illness is beyond me. After my dad's first round of chemo, he got so wiped out by it that he needed to be admitted to the hospital, where he then died a week later. When Dr. Fleischauer finally found the time to come by his room to visit and update us on what was going on, he said "If I had any idea he was this sick, I would have started his chemo in the hospital.." That statement still makes me so angry, now 6 months after his death. He was supposed to know how sick he was, that's what we hired him for. The final straw with him was that he didn't even come to Dad's bedside when it was to the point where nothing could be done and we let him pass. He didn't show his face, he sent a colleague who none of us had even met before. Coward. I would not recommend him to anyone seeking treatment for cancer, as I consider his bedside manner to be snobbish and false.

Wait is long for a less than 10 minute meeting. He doesn't answer questions and makes you feel stupid for asking them. He is not very knowledgeable even though he only does Oncology/Hematology. Do you own research before you see him, b/c he won't explain anything to you, after all that might take more than 2 minutes (about the length of time he actually pays attention to you in your appointment).

Dr. Fleishauer treated my mother for cancer. The wait times in his office are terrible, likely because this doctor is very verbose. He will talk your ear off about all kinds of topics other than those that are important, your particular brand of cancer. My mother saw him on a Friday and her blood test showed white count was critically low. She called him Saturday with a fever. He told her to take Tylenol. He finally told her to go to the hospital Sunday night, where she remained for nine days. During this time, he never once returned any of my phone calls. He also never once checked her radiation wounds to see if she was ready to resume radiation. The nurses had to tell him she was not ready. He promised to order physical therapy. Never happened. He promised to add various things to her IV. Never happened. I fired him at the end of that week and we are now happy with our new doctor who is knowledgeable and responsive.

This doctor is Amazing! Always on time and treated you with lots of care. If anything came up my family always could just call him in the middle of the night! He always gave us a way out of seating in that ER! First Appointment in the morning at his office. Also GREAT STAFF.
