I had a chin implant done in 2005.
I had to have it removed a year later because of constant burning pain along with numbness and muscle contractions and a bleeding protrusion.
I have lived in pain and burning and numbness to this day in 2024!
He brushed me off when I told him about the permanent damage which he said was from nothing he did! I was devastated and had to learn to just live with it so to speak. Some days it still really gets to me
and this experience has ruined my life!
I would never go to him again! Total screw up job!

My septorhinoplasty was botched, my deviated septum is back,I have bumps sticking out everywhere, my bulbous tip returned when my cartilage evaporated. somehow on the tip of nose, Everything he promised fell at the waste side. When I returned because I couldn't breathe he said it was my turbinate and sent me to another doctor who told me I still have my deviated septum . I paid 12k plus 5k interest for this from a supposedly great doctor who wont give me the time of day and his phone staff just as rude. So Im back to not breathing for 40 seconds at a time . How do people like this live with themselves !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had breast augment surgery in May,2022. Old implants were removed, a reduction done and new replacements put in. I wanted them larger than the originals which he did…unfortunately after the healing process was along far enough, it became obvious that one was larger than the other. I questioned this and was told it would settle, to be patient. (The card I was given afterward reflected there was more in one breast) I also noticed my implants were spreading to my armpit! When I shaved my armpits, I had to go onto the side of my breast to get it all shaved…my breasts had two different amounts of saline in each one. I did mention this to one of his nurses and was told…oh, he can fix that, he’s just cut the pocket too far into your armpits. To that, let’s add that they were falling below the incision line which caused great difficulty keeping them in my bra. Another trip to see Dr Giuffre… he could fix it he said, however, did I really want to go through surgery again? and of course it would cost me again to redo it….hmmmm. My feeling is that if you do a job and it’s not done right, you don’t charge your client to redo it, you do the right thing and fix your mistakes.
Ok, so let’s go on to further let you know, I also had a tummy tuck done about two weeks after the breast implant was done. I opted for the lipo at the same time, for an additional fee of course. To make a long story short here, I had to go back three or four times to have my stomach drained as sometimes the fluids can build up after surgery. Last time I went to have the drainage done, he told me that over time that would dissipate anyway so if I waited, it would go away. I’m still waiting and it has been 14 months. In the meantime, I had fat deposits on my hip bones which I understand are referred to as “dog ears”. I was told the one wasn’t bad so he would fix the other one…for a fee…another $1500.. under local anesthetic. He was rushed that day and when he cut, I felt the pain! He asked his assistant for more and injected me again. “Ouch” again. He didn’t wait for the anesthetic to take effect. I talked to him about the “back fat” that seems to have started showing as well and his response was that well, you didn’t have the lipo so that was another issue BUT, I did have the lipo! My stomach has continually grown in size. I’m not eating badly and my weight continues to go up. I’m convinced there something going on in there but when I saw him again, he said it was visceral fat and exercise would help that. I could go on but suffice to say, I’m back at the point where my breasts are NOT what I was told they would be, my tummy is not flabby anymore but it’s definitely larger than it was, my vaginal area below the tummy is pooching as it wasn’t pulled tight during my surgery, my breasts won’t stay in my bra, my nipples are too high and I have to be very careful of them showing in a bathing suit, I still have dog ears, and I’m out over $40,000. My advice is this: is he a nice man? probably… does this really matter when you’re laying on the table and you have no control over whats going to happen to your body? Absolutely not ! I don’t care if he’s nice or not nice. I care what his skills are. I care that he is into what he is doing on that particular day. I care that I get $40,000 worth of quality work, which, in my case I did not. when I went to Dr. Giuffre, I chose him because he was the oldest practising plastic surgeon in Edmonton. This told me that he had years of experience. I read the reviews and chose to go forward with him anyway even though there were some negative ones. I thought there are always going to be negative people but my observation now and advice to you would be this. Do you feel lucky? Do you? Do you just HOPE to be one of the lucky ones? Or do you feel like moving on and finding someone who has higher ratings? I’m pretty, trusting myself however, it’s come back to bite me. I’ve moved on and am going to see if my trust in another Dr can make me look somewhat like I was expecting to look before the $40,0000 donation to Dr Giuffre. If you’ve had good results from him in the past, I would say you were lucky you caught him on a good day when he probably wasn’t rushed. Do I feel he has the skills? Yes I do, but I also feel he’s overbooked and cutting corners in an attempt, possibly “in my opinion” to cushion his retirement, which is definitely on the horizon.

I'm about 5 weeks post-op from an abdominoplasty done by Dr. Giuffre. The entire process was seamless. The time between my website form submission to the initial consult was only 2 weeks. I scheduled the surgery to occur approximately four months after the consult, which I thought was an appropriate wait time for an elective surgery. I was a bit nervous meeting him given his reviews on this site but was pleasantly surprised to experience the seemingly opposite of others. He was patient, thorough, and informative. I am very impressed with my results so far and would both recommend him to others and return to him should I have another procedure.

This experience was so reassuring for me from the moment I walked into their clinic. The reception/front end staff were very welcoming and kind. It took no time to get into the appointment to speak with Dr. Giuffre. He was so professional and understanding of my concerns. I will explain quickly a little further as I had a breast augmentation over 20 years ago and was concerned I had an implant issue. He reassured me and told me everything was fine. I really respect this as he did not try to explain or push any treatment on me and just encouraged me to follow up with him if I noticed any changes. It is very comforting knowing someone like this has the best interests of his clients in mind and is not just in it for the money. Thank you and all of your staff for this exceptional experience. It will not be forgotten in the future if services are required 🙏🙂

Do not use Giuffre!
Had 3 surgeries by Giuffre
First one stated in hospital overnight and he
never had the courtesy to inform the nurses
he was not coming to check on me before I was to go home. The nurses had to call him as I was extremely
disappointed how much he reduced my good breast.
Second surgery he asked if I wanted the good breast
lifted again and I said not if it will be smaller and he proceeded AGAIN and reduced it.
Third surgery was because there was fluid buildup
which he said he had never seen before.
Two weeks after the third surgery my back incision
was leaking and I went into his office and he said it was okay and put a small bandage on it —-did NOT
do a test in the leakage to determine an infection.
TWO days later I was admitted to emergency
and put on intervenous antibiotics asap.
13 DAYS later I went home and had surgery
by Dr Zuk -I fired Giuffre-sadly had the implant removed along
with dark pus. DO not use this man ever😖

I saw Dr Guiffre for a revision reconstructive surgery after my original (amazing) surgeon retired and I was experiencing some issues. In my opinion, my experience included him making significant changes to the actual surgery he performed without telling me anything during my consults or pre-op. It wasn’t my first surgery by any means, and I felt like he treated me as though I had no right to autonomy over my body and what was being done to it. I ended up going for a second revision with him approximately three weeks after my first (NOT NORMAL) because he had changed the shape of the implant and it was too low and sticking out on my side; I also experienced significant pain and when I asked him what happened, he told me “I had to move things around to make room” - during the second surgery he made more changes that he never explained or told me about that has led to ongoing discomfort. I am still very unhappy with my results, but an independent second opinion advised me that there wasn’t much they could do at this time, although he told he could fix it if I paid (it’s covered under AHS). I would recommend meeting him for a consult and forming your own decision, and maybe bring somebody with you. This my experience from my perspective and my own opinions - I will never go back to him and I don’t recommend my friends see him based off my experience and results.

I went to see Dr. Giuffre after my surgeon informed me I needed to find a new surgeon as she would be closing her practice in Edmonton. She sent me my previous consultation report stating my tuberous breast deformity and that this would be a procedure covered under AHS. Dr. Giuffre took a quick glance and quickly said I was misdiagnosed and that this is a “cosmetic” procedure and that I would have to pay the 13k. He then continued to say even if it was tuberous breast, AHS doesn’t cover it. Low and behold, I got in contact with my previous surgeon who was luckily able to squeeze me in for surgery as she was certain it was tuberous breast. Dr. Giuffre completely invalidated my feelings and even refused to look at the records from my previous surgeon. I was very unhappy with his service and it seems he treates his “paying” clients with a lot more respect.
