I saw erikalin for about four months. I can understand some of the negative as well as positive comments. She certainly can be distant and unfeeling, but overall she can help you if you give her a chance. This type of therapy can be self guided through books, but a live person helps. Erika, I think is fairly good at helping asses a situation and pointing out things you might not have known about yourself.

I am surprised to read that people found Dr. Ashton cold and uncaring. My experience is just the opposite. She was extremely helpful.

I was referred to Dr. Ashton by my Psychiatrist to participate in a study he was doing. She provided a therapy that seemed weird to me -- but its working. My level of anxiety is dramatically reduced as are my panic attacks. She is great but you have to trust her. If you have failed on conventional therapy, this counselor may be able to help you.

I have been working with Dr. Ashton for quite a while, she is always extremely helpful and supportive. She got me through a time in my life when I was having disabling panic attacks and I haven't had any since. She has also helped me immensely with PTSD. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

My experience has been extremely positive with Dr. Ashton. She has helped me make positive changes and I have never felt better. She does give homework, but it is well worth it. I would recommend her to anyone.

Hard to identify with the two negative comments here, are they from the same person perhaps? My experience over the course of more than a year has been very positive and there has never been anything but professionalism and compassion in the treatment I have received. Not sure what would motivate someone to provide a response like this.

I think that just because Dr. Ashton was helpful for a couple of you, should not discount the fact that she is not helpful for everyone. I felt very disrespected, and was treated very poorly...And I did do the work. I found her to be uncompassionate.

I came upon this site googling slbmi to see if there is an online scheduling option and had to comment. It's very hard for me to believe the one negative post on here.My experience with Dr.Ashton has been life changing. She is very knowledgeable in her field.I say that as not only a client, but also as someone who has a BA in psychology and is getting my masters in the field.Yes,she is direct because she cares & wants you to learn about & work on whatever disorder you may have, but when your life has been torn apart and you're at the point of hardly being able to function the last thing you need is someone to be mushy, passively tell you everything is okay & be your best bud.If you have a friend who is an alcoholic the best thing you can do is confront them, not let them make excuses & hold them accountable.I think therapy kind of works like that.Dr.Ashton gives us the information, tools & support, but we do have to put effort into it too.

I have suffered with anxiety/panic attacks for over 6 years and Dr. Ashton has been the only Dr. in that time who has helped me actually understand and deal with the attacks. Dr. Ashton was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was in St. Louis for a month and visited her 2-4 times per week for that month. I have not felt this good in over 6 years. I feel Dr. Ashton gave me my life back. I now understand what the attacks are and can deal with them. I would recommend Dr. Ashton to anyone dealing with anxiety/panic attacks. It will change your life for the better. She is direct and to the point. She gives you "homework" and expects you to do it before the next visit. There is no ****footing around with Dr. Ashton. She tells you what you need to do to feel better and you have to do it if you want to get better. I highly recommend Dr. Ashton.

Horrible. Just horrible. She treated me with NO respect, was outright cruel at certain times and was extremely cold. AVOID THIS DOCTOR
