I've been seeing Dr. Stinger for about 15 years mainly for sports injurys. Cured me everytime, so far without surgery. I like his style. He doesn't beat around the bush and quickly refers when he thinks somebody else has more experience. I've had back and knee problems for the most part.

Non-attentive, unresponsive and poor patient care. Does not follow up with patients in a timely manner even when the needs are urgent. Doctor also appears to be largely inaccessible.

I was 10 min. late to Dr. Robert B. Stinger’s and was rudely welcomed “Your Late” by both a receptionist and male staff. I was delayed by an accident on 495 and asked if they needed me to reschedule, and handed forms to fill out. Dr. Stinger is a friendly person and highly regarded hip surgeon. Looking at my X-Rays, he said that I would never need a hip replacement, and I would have some soreness for two months. This week, because I am in considerably more pain at week five , I called and asked to pick up my X-Rays to get a second opinion and advice on physical therapy. The same office receptionist in taking my $5 payment for the CD w/X-Rays found that they did not have change in the office cash box and went to her purse for the change. She told me “that I was very lucky that she had the change,” as I limped out of the place. It is very sad when such an excellent doctor has staff with such poor quality customer people skills, that it directly impacts his income and reputation.

Dr. Stinger has performed arthroscopic surgery on both knees. Not only do I love his explanations and his caring nature, but his aftercare and concern for my wellbeing is absolutely the finest. Years ago, he actually spent time over his weekend, talk with me to disuade me from surgery. That's the type of surgeon I want!

I consulted with Dr. Stinger several years ago with acute knee pain. After an MRI he informed me I had a torn meniscus. I was 57 at the time and he informed me there was absolutely nothing at my age that I could do about it but suffer. He gave me a series of shots that didn't work but said that was all he could do other than replace the knee. Fortunately I have friends in the med. profession who informed me that was very incorrect. I sought a second opinion and was told by my new dr. that he does ortho all the time I was NOT old. He is Dr. Albrigos from Anderson Clinic in Arlington. He fixed my meniscus and ACL as well. I am so thankful for smart friends. Stinger may be just a dullard who doesn't keep abreast of changes in his field, or he didn't think the cost of doing the operation was worth his time. At any rate, I'd not recommend him to anyone for anything. Buyer beware!!

The best doctor i've ever been to. He did a hip replacement; but the amazing thing was that he personally wheeled me to the recovery room, and personally changed the bandage the next day. He admitted both things were unusual for surgeons, but he does it as both things are important for his patients. He even gave me his cell number for use after i was discharged. The hospital nurses said they referred their family to him. Great experience.

I love Dr. Stringer. He is professional, knowledgeable, and patient. I feel that he really cares about your concerns. My previous doctor would not respond to lingering problems I was experiencing after breaking my elbow. I lost the full use of my arm and was in pain for six months. I changed to Dr. Stinger. Dr. S ordered an MRI, determined the problem, and referred me for physical therapy. As a result, I have normal, pain free use of my arm again! I am so grateful to both Dr. Stinger and his physical therapist Paul. They are my heroes! I highly recommend Dr. Stinger. Truly, Dr. Stinger is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is wonderful.

Unfortunately, I have seen many doctors in my lifetime and can think of none that I would recommend more highly than Dr. Stinger. For knee replacements, he is the best and the most personable.
