I have required 2 knee replacements and a shoulder replacement. Dr. Albrigo did my second knee. He used the exact same joint as was used by another doctor in my other knee. Dr. Albrigo's incision was 8 inches long. The other doctor was 13 inches long. The day after Dr. Albrigo operated I was up walking unassisted in the hospital hallway and headed home. I was on crutches and a walker for 5 weeks after my "other" surgeon operated. I highly recommend Dr. Albrigo. He was very personable. He wrote a long letter to my insurance company justifying the surgery so that I could get it done. The knee that Dr. Albrigo operated on is far more stable and flexible than the other knee. His staff and Inova Hospital are excellent. However far you have to travel to get the best make the trip. It will affect the outcome for the rest of your life. I travelled 3 hours each way just for my visits. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I visited AOC twice for my injury and the combination of those two experiences is more than sufficient to guarantee I am never going back. On both occasions, Dr. John Albrigo was rude, terse, disinterested and completely uncompassionate to my situation. I’ve never felt so shafted by an experience in my life. All in all, I probably waited 3.5 to 4 hours, for /maybe/ 10 minutes of “care” which resulted in two referrals and no treatment. To truly add insult to injury, I’ve never met a colder, less-caring medical professional anywhere. I was in disbelief – still am, honestly. DO NOT GO TO DR. JOHN ALBRIGO of ANDERSON ORTHOPEDIC. See the multiple 1-star ratings on Yelp and other sites. AVOID DR. ALBRIGO.

I talked to three surgeons before moving forward with Dr. Albrigo and am very pleased with the results. I had a torn miniscus repaired and am bone-on-bone. The responsiveness of doctor, staff, and nurses from pre-op to post-op was impressive. The PTs were in awe of 1) how quickly I healed, 2) the cleanness of the cuts (now invisible), and, most importantly, 3) how I had almost full range of motion in a couple weeks. Dr. Albrigo has a very busy office, but you'd never know it when he is consulting with you. He is completely engaged and thoughtful, explaining what is going on with your joint, your expectations, and answering all questions without rushing. I am a hiker and tennis player in my mid-50s, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr Albrigo is an outstanding physician who takes the time to analyse and discuss your specific case and suggest the most appropriate course of action. The total replacement of my left knee was an outstanding success and is 'better than new' REgards Terry Brewer

Can't really speak for the Doctor, since his reception wouldn't allow my wife to see him. The referal came though on the fax, they looked at it, declared it not filled out properly and sent her off as a no show. Sorry, we'll find another doctor.

I thought he was very competent. Better than average bedside manner. He was blown away with the damage in my knee when he did an artheroscopy, but cleaned it up well and I have been relatively pain-free for two years, despite the fact that I don't have cartilage in there. I thoroughly trust this doctor and would highly recommend him. When I replace the knee, he will be the one to do it.
