Dr Lam is an extremely knowledgeable doctor. Unfortunately he does not have the time for all his patients anymore. I feel like all I do is repeat the same information every visit but it is not documented. The information I share is pertinent to my care but it doesn't register. It's so frustrating and disappointing. Some of the staff are very nice, but many are dismissive and unresponsive. It's sad what has happened to healthcare. Disappointing

When I first started seeing Dr Lam I could not have been more thrilled. He was able to Dx a disease I had been suffering from for years, but no other doctor paid attention to. He also helped me medically get thru some very bad times of suffering different ill effects from my disease; issues that were so bad my quality of life was unbearable. I will never forget him for that. He always give his clients big hugs before you leave the office. He does truly care about his patients I believe. My condition improved so much that I stopped seeing him for a few years. But my health started to decline again and when I went back to see him, with some test results indicating another possible auto immune disease, It was a very different experience. He had started working out of a different office, the staff was something left to be desired, trying to get an appoint was a disaster as wait time was extremely long, wait time at the appointment was over an hour, and he was completely dismissive of the reason I was there; the tests results and new symptoms. As others have posted he was extremely rushed. I believe he has accumulated far to many patients to manage and still provide the quality of care he used to provide. I believe he is an excellent doctor that just grew his practice way too big to provide the same level of care he once provided.

I give one star but I feel as if they deserve zero stars. I was there to see Dr. Romy Aranguiz for rheumatology. The drive, being very very far from where I live, on a really rainy and wet day.
STAFF: I arrive early and talk to the staff giving them my insurance information. When I hand them my insurance card they say that they don't accept those insurance. My primary doctor made this appointment with the staff because not many rheumatologist treat my diagnosis. I recall that they had called me the day before to confirm the appointment.

Staff: Low brain activity and not pleasant. Always planning social events instead of working. Unprofessional conversations in front of patients. Seemed bothered to have to interact with the public.
Punctuality: Never seen even close to on-time. Sometimes 1-hour infusion appointments take up to 3 hours, because they have one person doing up to 10 at a time, one by one.
Helpfulness: Dr. Lam never seemed to have time to give a thorough evaluation or actually pay attention to what I was saying. He seemed to hear only what he wanted to hear or what fit the current diagnosis.
Knowledge: I now see a different rheumatologist who, when I related my history of treatment, exclaimed, "Are you SURE he was board-certified???" My new doctor has identified a completely different diagnosis based on some rather obvious symptoms and I am now being treated with much more success.

The best Dr. I never had before. Have me stand up,working and always is able to listen and help. Take time , after office hour to verify your record and bring you feedback call you to home after 6:00PM. For me that is e real doctor, compromised with his patients.

I have been going to Dr. Lam for almost 10 years, every 6 weeks. I feel welcome, and relaxed, but most importantly - I feel better. He has changed my life. Treatment works, I feel good ! Thank you Dr. Lam and Staff

I only saw this doctor once as an initial consultation. He didn't really spend much time with me (about 5 minutes). He didn't review the medical records that his office staff forced me to bring in and he didn't look over all the family hx stuff that his nurse asked me. I felt that he was really in a rush but trying to act professional as he hurried. I felt like he just told me to keep doing what I"m doing and keep self treating myself. I also felt like he didn't really understand my other medical conditions and frankly didn't have time to fresh up. His recommendations weren't helpful for me. ON an aside watch out with talking to the office staff on the phone for scheduling appointments; they can be rude. Maybe this doctor worked well for other people but not for me. :( Maybe he is better for certain age groups; I have no clue.

Very impressive that Dr. Lam incorporates some natural approaches with traditional medical approaches. Almost unheard of. He spends a lot of time explaining and teaching the patient how to manage a problem.
