I worked with Dr. Higdon back in 2018. He was easily my favorite therapist because he was SO willing to come to me where I was. I had some pretty awful thought distortions that many therapists wouldn't address in a meaningful way (and would instead just ask me to use my coping skills when the thoughts came up), but Dr. Higdon helped me find resources to read up about those distortions and he would have productive conversations with me that drastically changed my horribly distorted worldviews. A lot of the work that I did with Dr. Higdon still impacts my life today. I agree with all of the other reviews on here (up to October 2020). Dr. Higdon is awesome.

Alex Higdon literally saved my life. He has had the most profoundly positive impact of any human being I've ever met, and I'm infinitely more calm and content with my life now than before I met him. Many of my long time friends can't believe the words coming out of my mouth when I talk about what matters to me now and how I feel about my past experiences. I would strongly and earnestly recommend him to anyone seeking a therapist in any of his specialties and regularly do. He's a good dude.

Marriage issues, in-law problems, and personal decisions about changing my life is why I chose to begin with Dr Higdon. He listens. He offers. He reviews. He cautions. He applauds. He cares that you are becoming a better you. Easy in manner. Strong in knowledge. Open in discussions. He brings you around to seeing better ways to handle your life instead of making some mistakes over again. With this knowledge your life becomes better, easier, more satisfying. HE comes to each person using their own value system, he is non judgmental in his approach-which says a lot if you are not at your best to begin with. He brings you to a point of realization that will change how you see those around you and therefore how you respond to those you care most about. Personal growth through introspective, quiet, calming, examining, your inner self results in a happier more solid you. Love that he has specific examples, words to use, growing exercises, and compassion on bad days. I would suggest this doctor for most persons that want to address their personal issues. I think his years of practice along with this personal approach would help persons with true tragic issues and also those with a personal desire to become a better person, mother, wife, employee or friend. I use his words in my daily life. I follow his examples and my family is better, my life is simpler, and my heart is more open to those around me. He meets you where you are and moves you to a better place by having you examine the why and how of your behaviors. His comment about something (an action or comment) not being my "best work" has now made me ever aware, of if I am giving my best, in a situation, and therefore I now live my life giving my" best work." Highly suggest Dr Alex Higdon.

Dr. Higdon is a consummate professional in every regard. He is passionate in his practice, and very perceptive. He is non-judgmental, honest and direct in his communication. An excellent listener! I entered his practice almost 5 years ago with some emotionally devastating experiences. Dr. Higdon was able to guide me through this difficult period. I continue to use the "life skills" that I learned under his care. I am deeply grateful for his expertise. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Dr. Alex Higdon.
