I do not understand why people still go to this doctor. At one time a very long time ago, he was a good doctor. He no longer listens to the patient. He does what he wants. He is all about the money. If a patient wants a double mastectomy at one time, do it. Don’t do it at two separate surgeries to get more money in your pocket. Stop making people wait. We are important too. It’s sad that you are now this way. I’m just glad there are other wonderful doctors out there.

This is my second surgery with Dr. Schmidt over an 8-year span. He made an exception to see me on a day he does not normally see patients. He was compassionate and thorough in our first meeting. He walked me through the type of cancer I had and the best ways available to treat/remove it. He answered all of my questions clearly and honestly. The day of the surgery, he met me and my family in the hospital, reviewed what he was going to do and answered more questions. He was at the hospital the next morning after surgery as well, checking his surgical work and my health. I agree with the nurses who cared for me: I had THE BEST surgeon! It meant a lot more to me because they volunteered that information on their own. For the post-op appointment, Dr. Schmidt was there with all the test results and a plan of action to keep me cancer free. He arranged for me to see two other specialists who would handle my radiation and medicinal needs from that point. It was complete service from beginning to end. You can't get any better care than that. Note: A special thanks to "Cathy" in Dr. Schmidt's office for her compassionate and informative (and very helpful) phone calls!

Dr Schmidt has been my doctor for over 20 years. Our family would very surprised to learn of someone more knowledgeable, skilled or kind. We drive an hour and 15 minutes to his office and it's worth every falling of gas.

I believe Dr. Schmidt focuses more on the business of diagnosis, processes and surgery and less on the patient and compassion. This may come with doing it so long but it certainly shouldn't be the case. May need to reduce the numbers to get back to quality care.

Dr. Schmidt is nothing but professional and caring. He not only cared for my breast health, but my mental health as my Mother died from breast cancer and I suffered a miscarriage - something not in his defined field of work but he cared enough to spend time with me to make sure that I was okay. I would be willing to wait hours in that waiting room if I had to just to receive the top notch care that I received from him.

Dr. Schmidt is an excellent doctor who is extremely compassionate. He took the time to explain my cancer treatment plan and set me up with Dr. Birhiray my oncologist. They make an excellent team. I felt confident with both of them throughout my journey. My Masectomy was done with such skill and the incision has healed beautifully. Dr Schmidt is the best.

Dr. Schmidt is a very good doctor. However, he brushes off questions and comes across as patronizing and dismissive. Hugs and pats on the shoulder are nice but I prefer to be treated like an adult, with adult explanations to my questions.
