Great experience overall. I understand that it can be difficult to be completely pain free but I felt most of my pain issues were addressed thoroughly and professionally. The explanation I received about my problems were clear and to the point. Very positive overall.

I love Dr. Patel!!! He is smart, young, and a cutie pie! Hehe. He treats my lower back and knees. He put a spinal cord stimulator in my back after's spine surgery did not work for me. He had a trainee assistant with him and they did a wonderful job with the minor surgery. He was teaching his trainee and explained everything while I listen in amazement-I love medical talk. Now I feel like I'm in my 20's - watch out you young men! I highly recommend Dr. Patel.

Dr. Patel was a true blessing for me! He was very thorough in evaluating my pain issues since my accident. He provided multiple options for management and involved me in the decision process. I ended up undergoing several interventional procedures for pain relief which significantly improved my quality of life. He actually followed up with me via a phone call a few days after my procedure which was very thoughtful and unexpected as I have never had another doctor do this for me in the past! I no longer need to see him as I have returned to my normal life and am so thankful he took care of me in my troubled time. He truly is a healer of pain with unmatched compassion and empathy.

I was not impressed. Saw him for a second opinion. He pushes his procedures and totally neglects medical management. The procedures dont provide 100% relief and can take a few weeks to work... he fails to address pain concerns in the interim. He also did not perform his own procedures. He supervised his fellow who performed the actual procedure. I realize that Emory is a teaching hospital - but you dont want someone inexperienced fishing around your spine with a needle. This is particularlly imporant when the group utilizes negligable sedation for the procedures. Switched to another PM doc who addresses the medical and surgical care. He also has much more experience with his procedures (good hands = less pain) and thoroughly assures that you're sedated for the procedure and immediately deals with breakthrough pain.
