We have been using Dr. Fouss for over eight years with both of our kids. Recently our daughter has had issues with severe anxiety and depression, and needed to get a time scheduled with Dr. Fouss. The only way to schedule an appointment Is through the website and he only has an answering service. We could not get an appointment for over 10 days. Soon after scheduling an appointment with Dr. Fouss we went to our family practitioner for advice and more immediate and needed attention. Within the 10 days of getting in for her appointment, Dr. Fouss told our 19-year-old daughter that he was "bowing out" and turning her care over to the family practioner. Never once did he ask the opinion of my daughter or myself of how we felt or show any care for her mental well-being. Quite simply, Dr Fouss only cared about his own interests and bailed on my 19 year old daughter and washed his hands clean. Now that has done more harm than good. Apparently a humble patient has not a chance in the system paired with an arrogant doctor. In conclusion our experience with Dr. Fouss's practice was so offending and degrading. He has hurt my daughter by throwing his hands up as if it was all about him. When seeking his services ask yourself does your family deserve more? Ours does.....Dr Fouss failed us...

I have known Dr. Fouss for over 20 years, first in a professional capacity, then as a psychiatrist for my son for the past 18 years. He is brilliant. He is very knowledgeable, personable and professional. He is the only person that has ever been able to communicate effectively with my son. He is well worth the money we've spent and my son has really progressed in managing his bipolar moods, attitudes and medications. As Colorado is 48th out of the 50 states in providing mental health care, I consider it a miracle that we have anyone of his caliber in the state!

I have been seeing Dr. Fouss for several years. He is well worth the money. I have insurance but accept the fact that he does not accept it. If you follow instruction and keep instructed follow up appts he is great. no office staff as he is able to handle the workload on his own. He has called and followed up EVERY time I have called him. He is worth every penny he charges. If you want an average doc, go to one on your insurance plan. If you want a great MD go to see Dr Fouss.

Worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. Amazing that he is able to continue despite his numerous "bad" days. Really hope he is able to see someone to help him with his anger. Perhaps his neighbor, Dr. Scott McClure?

Dr. Fouss charges the AVERAGE fee for a psychiatrist - period. Availability in COS is very limited and if you are that good you don't have to accept insurance. One must ask one's self... "can you really put a price on sanity". Dr. Fouss was able to identify key reasons for my insomnia with limited or no information. I was impressed and look forward to working and achieving our goals together.

Dr. Fouss is polite and professional and has a very nice office. He is a good choice for people looking for medication only. He doesn't do much therapy since he charges $150.00 per half hour. I felt he had some control issues and didn't like the answering service. At times they were rude and unprofessional. I found another doctor who is a better fit for me and charges a lot less and has twice as much experience as Dr. Fouss.

I feel he is not as knowledgeable as he should be. He missed some pretty significant symptoms for my care. I don't feel he has much experience with side effects to medications. I felt as though he was prescribing for me what he made the most commission on, not what would be the best for my medical needs. Upon seeing another doctor who has years of experience, it confirmed to me that sometimes it's best to go with the tried and true. And I'm paying a lot less for my medication and my doctor.

Threw me under the bus on 9/26/11 over the phone! Discharged me as his patient just five-1/2 working days prior to my next appt. Saw him for five months, spent $1,050 for seven appointments, and got 17 prescriptions /refills / samples. He also did not call in a Rx for a medication that I cannot suddenly stop taking — left me hanging. Said he was uncomfortable with my suicidal ideation, but later I learned that it may have more to do with his brother’s case (Dr. Clinton Fouss) and divorce issues within his family of origin. He seems to like his comfort, control, and having his wife’s office next to his. Very angry and frugal – has no staff on his payroll, uses answering service (very impersonal) and online scheduling. $300 for initial and $125 for follow-up, perhaps because his military retirement isn’t enough income. No insurance or medicare. Seems to seek high-end, compliant, non-complex, cash-paying patients. Very overpowering. Still trying to discern if he did more help than harm.
