When you read the First Dayton Cyberknife at First Dayton Cancer Care it sounds like a walk in the park.
The assistant that inserted the catheter caused a tear/stricture to my left side meatus.
It was a terrible experience, now 7 years later I am having to have a laser meatal dilation. As I now spray urine.
During COVID-19 I was informed to have my PSA drawn. Because my app doesn’t work with his, he refused to discuss my results. Which I could see have decreased by PremierMyChart.
I quickly found another doctor that actually treats me like a human.
The site is still up and it says all procedure risks, prior and after are discussed with the patient.
That’s simply not the case.
I had a prior appointment for several months.
I was called by the receptionist or RN and told to come pick up my records.
I’m certainly glad Dr. Edward Hughes has closed, I only wish he had before he was recommended by my PCP.
I have had many bad results from the full 45 minute, week long treatment.
If you are faced with prostate cancer, personally I implore you to explore all available options.
Do not rely on your PCP’s referral.
As I was personally told I didn’t have to worry about him ever leaving the area. As he has family in Dayton.
I saw him during his last day of practice. He never mentioned he was leaving across country.
Trust no one.

The facility and staff are tops. Always a smile and a very pleasant attitude. Although this has been a trying experience for me; It was nice to have someone listen carefully to my concerns. Always the professional, with words of encouragement and making me feel important. I appreciate the doctor, staff and the facility. Treatment went well. Thanks C. Morgan.

I received radiation following my breast cancer lumpectomy. All staff was upbeat and had a positive attitude. This made treading through cold and snow every day (treatment in Jan & Feb) feel worthwhile. Appointments were worked around my schedule. Dr Hughes always took the time I (and my husband) needed to discuss our medical situation. I would recommend Dr Hughes and this facility to friends and family.

Dr. Hughes and staff were very good! They explained process well and made me feel relaxed as possible. The preparation each day was not all that pleasant but the results were fantastic and thanks to my urology Dr. Espinosa for sending me to Dr. Hughes. I was treated by Dr. Hughes in 2008 for stage 2 prostate cancer. The treatment included radiation, chemotherapy, hormones, and surgery; a bit of overkill for stage 2 prostate cancer. His treatments have ruined my quality of life. Today I have erectile dysfunction, incontinence, loss of muscle in my left leg, deformation of my left foot, and deterioration of the bones in my hip and left let. I strongly encourage any man with prostate cancer to seek medical treatment most anywhere EXCEPT with Dr. Hughes. He has damaged my lifestyle; do not let him damage your's...
