We moved to Flower Mound and required a doctor for my son.  I made an appointment with Dr. Arca to start the process for evaluating ADHD as my son was showing many criteria and was having issues in school and after school activities.  She was 45 minutes late to our first appointment and immediately was on the offensive about disagreeing about evaluating my son concerning ADHD. Mind you, she hadn't seen him before, didn't spend any time talking to him, or observing him.  Her only fixation was his age (4.5). She disagreed with his schools because they are "all mostly wrong". Further she said they don't even start considering it until age 6, which I found after the appoint the American Association for Pediatrics changed their age guideance from 6 to 4 in 2011 (it is now 2019).  She didn't listen to my descriptions and ended the appointment by leaving without any indication we were finish (5 minute appointment).  Very unprofessional and operated on her own agenda rather than helping.

We decided on Dr Arca to be the Ped for our first child. We had a great initial visit and when the baby arrived we began our monthly visits and vaccinations. On our most recent visit Alan, on the clinical staff, assisted in taking height and weight measurements. He also gave the vaccinations. My husband and I noticed he smelled stongly of smoke. He gave the oral vaccination and both shots with out gloves, washing his hands or even sanitizing in front of us. This is absolutely unacceptable when it comes to a newborn. Although we really like Dr Arca, we were informed upon complaint that there is no way we could continue seeing Dr Arca without the possibility of Alan assiting us. Unfortunatly we are going to have to find another peditrician. When considering doctors, I would have liked to know this in advance so we would have started with a different doctor in the first place.

We have been with Dr. Arca for almost 3 years. She is so good with our two year old and is very considerate with samples to help reduce the cost of prescriptions with our teenager. She also isn't afraid to refer you to a specialist for further evaluation where some doctors simply dismiss your concerns.

We like Dr. Arca. I think she is pretty sharp but sometimes it does feel like she is rushing you a little. I know sometimes she is very busy but other times I have seen her reading a magazine at the desk and it still feels like she is trying to finish in a hurry. She is good at answering questions but she makes very little time for small talk. However, Dr. Arca has three daughters so she has been there and done that and we like that. Not much seems to surprise her because she definitely knows the ways of children first hand. They do a very good job of getting a sick child in to see either her or Dr. Harston that day. We have never had a problem getting our child in to see a doctor when she has needed one. The only concern I have is there does seem to be a high turnover in the nurses. Maybe that is the way Cook's does it but it doesn't seem like the nurses stay there very long. You get one you really like and when you go back three or six months later they are gone.

Dr. Arca is great! Personable, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, listens and doesn't rush you. Nurses return phone calls promptly. Usually don't have to wait very long, and the waiting room is not overly crowded with sick children!

Arca is very snippy and condesending with parents and the staff is rude. Waited 1 hour in waiting room just to see doctor. Watch out for the sticker Nazi too. My daughter got 2 stickers and as we were walking away the staff member yells ONE and made my daughter put a sticker back. I just spend $120 for the visit so you think they could afford 1 extra.
