I could not imagine any better team to deal with such an awful diagnosis. Dr. Resta and his crew listen, answer questions and move with a sense of urgency. When I had questions or concerns I could call his Assistant who always got back to me within an hour or two. (Sometimes even answers the phone!)
The NP, the Chemo Nurses, all on top of their respective games. Appointments were consistently met on time. Life savers, in the truest sense. Did I mention that they LISTEN to the patient?

VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT LYMPHOMA. HE APPEARED TO REALIZE THAT MY SITUATION COULD NOT AFFORD TO WAIT FOR CHEMO TREATMENT AND DID NOT WAIT TO BEGIN TREATMENT .

Dr. Resta put my mind at ease and helped me to understand what my tests revealed.

The thing I like best about Dr. Resta is that he doesn't let his ego stand in the way of making the best decision for me. I pushed him to go a different route than what he was familiar with, and he reached out to UVA, discussed it with another doc, and agreed to my requests. His nurse practitioner is also quite good. Usually the wait is less than 10 minutes.

Things I don't like -- about the facility: 1) It's *very hard* to get to talk to anyone in person on the phone. If you're in a hurry or not -- doesn't matter. You have to leave a message. The triage nurse is most responsive. Infusion scheduling is good -- if the person is there to answer the phone in person. 2) Being a private practice, the place is closed on weekends and holidays, meaning it's the E.R. or nothing if you have an issue during those periods. 3) Because they're a private practice, they don't do blood product infusions. That means coordinating with Winchester Medical -- which is usually way over booked. Overall lesson -- don't be in a hurry, here.
