The Best!!! Husband had a 2 level spinal fusion. Dr. Main was patient and wonderful from day one. Spent an hour with us for consultation explaining everthing. Never rushed us out of an appointment. Day of surgery he was wonderful, great bedside manner, called to check up afterwards. Highly recommend Dr. Main.

Dr. Main is very thorough, caring (excellent bed side manner). His approach is one where he will try other remedies before recommending surgery. Of course, each patient is different, and surgery may be the only course of action, but if I had to have surgery, I would be worry free in Dr. Main's care.

Dr. Main and his staff exceeded my expectations. His staff is helpful,kind and caring. Dr. Main is an exquisite surgeon. He accurately predicted what my condition would be s/p surgery. He warned me that I would experience the worst pain of my life s/p surgery. I did. He said I would see positive results after two days, I did. He performed a four level discectomy/lumbar fusion: L2-L3,L3-L4,L4-L5,L5-S1 with 10 pedicle screws and instrumentation. The results have been remarkable. The procedure was done on 07/30/2010. This was my third and most complicated surgery since 1990. I had had two of the most qualified spinal surgeons in NY previously. Dr. Main is superior to both in my humble opinion. He is a regular person, but gifted in personality and technique. As previously posted, get your 2nd opinion elsewhere and let Dr.Main do the work. He works out of Lenox Hill in NYC. I received excellent post op care there. My injury:working as an EMT when a stretcher collapsed with a 300lbs PT.

Dr Main performed a 3 level fusion on me in Dec.07 and i feel great. Dr main is agentlmen and a great person. His staff is 1 of a kind, they are sweet and extremly helpful..I have recommended Dr Main numerous times and every time the person was pleased...John Tighe

i had a problem. he operated on me and fixed it. he is a terrific man to have as your doctor, not only because he knows what he is doing, but he also talks to you as if you were an equal which many doctors do not. this incident was the worst medical problem i have ever had in my life, but dr. main made it possible for me to come through it with a very happy ending.

Superior staff and wonderful doctor.Dr. Main will take the time to explain the situation and definitley reflects a superior intellect and ability to make the patient totally aware of the pros and cons of a procedure and allows the patient to be able to make an informed decision. Absolutely the best MD I have ever encountered. I recommend him totally and unequivically.

What a smart, nice, and helpful doctor! He's a surgeon who isn't quick to take you to the operating room, and a doctor who wants to explain the problem and how to fix it. I can't imagine anyone more compassionate and interested in his patients.
