Dr. Mikula has given me a new lease to life. Her diagnosis was spot on even on tele medicine and the best Ent surgeon hands down. The care before and after the surgery was spectacular. She is very personable and takes extra care of her patients. She is always quick to response to any query I had and she explains everything very immaculately which made me feel at ease and I was confident getting my nasal surgery from her. Her long experience has made her the best in her field.

My wife and I are completely convinced that she saved me from needing IV antibiotics and more. In fall 2011, I developed a severe sinus infection. She successfully treated my infection without IV antibiotics. We give her our highest recommendation.

This was, probably, the most ineffective doctor I have even seen. There was no diagnosis for my snoring issue ( even after a sleep study) and no plan for creating any future remedy. Her staff never follows up with appointment scheduling and she just did not seem to have a lot of knowledge. I left and will not return. Too bad- we had an amazing experience for our daughter within this same practice ( different physician).

This year is my second year anniversary of being under the great care of Dr. Mikula. Two years ago, my life had just taken the worst turn as a result of a sinus surgery performed by another ENT doctor at a different hospital in Fairfax City which resulted in three raptures in my brain tissue (dura) with CSF leakage. I had several shocks thereafter and four days later, I was transported to MedStar GUH ER in the evening and I met Dr. Mikula early in the following morning. She immediately stated what had happened to me and what the correction surgery would be. I was grateful to her for giving me a high hope and I felt very comfortable with her the very first time I met her. She had the whole medical team with her and ready to perform the corrections surgery.
She spends a lot of time with me on each office visit and she is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to her patients. She has always provided the absolute best care, I believe, the best advice and treatment during every visit and for every issue. She has a great staff as well. Rosie is so kind, helpful and wonderful!
Today, I am doing very well and enjoying every bit of my life! Thank you Dr. Mikula! You gave me my life back!

Dr. Mikula is an exceptionally skilled and caring doctor. She was able to quickly diagnose what was causing my recurring sinus infections and painful headaches. She took the time to discuss her recommendations with me--including two phone conversations in one day! From the initial exam through the post-op follow-up appointments, she has been absolutely fantastic. I feel lucky to have found her.

For 5 years, I had been suffering from a nose injury. I had seen 6 other doctors prior to seeing Dr. Mikula and it was only Dr. Mikula who was able to explain everything that I had questions and concerns about. Her and her team were great during the day of surgery. If you have any sinus/allergy/nose injury issues, I recommend dr mikula 100%.

Dr. Mikula is an exceptional ENT. She correctly diagnosed my issues and fixed them. Deeply caring and concerned. You may have to wait because she is very booked - but, well worth it.

The ENT I saw for a second opinion referred me to Dr. Mikula for a 3rd opinion. The first appointment with her was fine, but she didn't show up for today's appointment. I arrived on time, was taken back within 5 minutes, but waited in the exam room for over an hour. Only once during that time did a staff member update me to say "she'd be a few minutes." The front desk staff were apologetic and offered to reschedule for the following week, which I declined.

Also, be prepared to wait at least a month to get an appointment. This appointment I had today was supposed to be for the end of the month, but apparently there was a cancellation today.

The two positive comments about her are that 1) she agreed with me that surgery is the answer for my nasal congestion/pain (my regular ENT has been hesitant to pursue surgery) and 2) she found swollen turbinates and a small septal spur that both my sinus CT and regular ENT missed. She has a decent bedside manner, but isn't as warm as my other docs.

While my ENT wanted me to consider having surgery with her, today's experience did not make me want to do so. She may be competent, but I shouldn't have to wait over an hour in the exam room, nor a month to get an appointment. I've never had to wait over an hour in an exam room for a doctor, ENT or otherwise. I'll stick with the ENT I already have a relationship with AND respects my time.
