Biography
Dr. Clay McDonough treats male and female incontinence, urethral stricture disease, overactive bladder, and other urological conditions, including vaginal prolapse and neurogenic bladder. He specializes in reconstructive urology, with expertise in the placement of male slings, artificial sphincters, penile prostheses, and sacral neuromodulators.His research interests include the use of biologic materials to reduce the risk of stricture recurrence after surgery.Dr. McDonough is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.He is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), the Society of Government Service Urologists, and Alpha Omega Alpha (Honor Medical Society).Dr. McDonough is a 14-year veteran of the United States Air Force and has served in Iraq, where he provided reconstructive urology services to the local population. He has also treated patients in Honduras through his work with Air Force humanitarian missions.
