Dr. Macfarlane has done one surgery on my cervical spine and two on my lumber spine. The cervical spine took 2 years to heal. My complaint is about my treatment when I tried to get an appointment after I went on Medicare. From my prior MRI in 2015 of my cervical spine it showed I had stenosis on multiple levels and We were talking about having surgery at that time but I would try physical therapy

I saw Dr McFarlane for approximately 8 months about an artificial disc replacement in my neck. After 8 visits and 4 months of PT he has his nurse tell me in the waiting room that I'm no longer a candidate! That's it, good bye. And his associates have the personality of bugs. Condescending, narcissistic, people.

Dr. Macfarlane is the best Neurosurgeon in Utah. Maybe the intermountain West, I didn't need to look any further after my First appointment with him. Because when you find the best Neurosurgeon, with all the qualifications that he has, you don't look any further.

I just had spinal cord related surgery...removal of a tumor from the dural spinal sac....performed by Dr. Macfarlane. He and his colleagues and staff are magnificent! He thoroughly explained everything ahead of time and I felt completely confident in is care. He is the consummate professional! Everything about the surgery was perfect. I am so grateful that he was my neurosurgeon!!

the guy knows his stuff. I had a broken neck and other complications, and he fixed all nicely, plus, he's great to work with. Definitely worth a look if you're interviewing. Don't use any but the best for the spinal column stuff...

Instills a great deal of confidence, extremely knowledgeable in his specialized field of neurosurgery (which is also evident on this site, despite previous user's comment "don't think he does neurosurgery" - are you not familiar with your own physician?).
