1. Dr. Hernandez bed side manner is atrocious.2. He told me I had cancer in my distal ulna based on a X-ray. How can he make this diagnosis with just that information? And he's a Specialist? With a total cold and uncaring way. Even knowing that I am bi-polar and schizoaffective. Which was noted on papers we filled out. Which the Doctor is responsible to look at before seeing the patient.3. Dr. Hernandez referred me to Dr. Barry Berger stating he is an Orthopedic Oncologist... When in fact he is a Pediatric Orthopedic Doctor. I felt like an **** making appt. when appointment lady snickered at me when I explained the referral. Do you not expect Dr. Hernandez should know what a doctor's specialty is before referring?4. For one week our life was turned upside down because of the way Dr. Hernandez handled this. Telling me I had cancer.5. The MRI that was scheduled was in a tiny machine. On the paper before MRI that I am claustrophobic and his size and weight. The MRI tech questioned why I was sent to this machine when there is a bigger one. That was also unacceptable. I suffered in this machine for a half hour to get MRI because of Dr. Hernandez saying it was cancer and needed to see Orthopedic Oncologist as soon as possible.

I would not recommend Dr. Hernandez or Coordinated Health to anyone.

Biography

Continual education is paramount to providing great care. I continue to gain perspective, insight and knowledge through my experience and through memberships to organizations such as the AAOS and ASSH. Also, patient education is necessary to achieve the best outcomes and is a major focus of treatment. Over the past 14 years I have had the honor of providing patients of the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas with orthopedic care of the upper extremities (hand, wrist and elbow) including trauma, reconstruction and microvascular repair. Injuries to the upper extremities is of great societal concern as such injuries affect an individual’s ability to function in the work place and recreational space. Restoration of function is my primary goal with the specific focus on tailoring each treatment to the individual’s needs. Training at renowned institutions throughout the country has allowed me great perspective on the variety of treatment options available and on the various philosophies in which they are applied. I earned my MD at UCLA, Medical Scientist Training Program and completed a residency in orthopedics at Duke Medical Center and a fellowship in hand surgery. The Lehigh Valley has been my home for the past 14 years where family and community are of great importance. In addition to my work, friends and family, I enjoy all the outdoor activities the Lehigh Valley has to offer including golf and snowboarding. Recently I’ve enjoyed learning the art of sailing. I also enjoy wood working especially using locally reclaimed barn wood.
