I believe the practice is way too big. Felt rushed starting with the front desk, visit with Dr. Small and the rest of the staff. Dr. Small had the wrong "chart" even though it was on the computer. Return phone calls are non-extistant. Have been trying to get my medical records transferred and was told there is a 30.00 charge for copying and sending- ridiculous!! and that I must send a check. " The Credit Card processor is not working today...." Sealed the deal on my decision to switch practices. I've had better customer experiences at government offices!

First visit was a wonderful experience. Great first impression, with the front office staff, the nurses, and virtually no wait time. Dr. Small was very thorough and took time to answer all my questions. I will be definitely referring him to all my friends and family.

I think Dr. Small is very friendly and helpful. He is willing to check into each of your concerns. I have recently made a decision to leave this doctor due to his staff. They are not good at returning phone calls, I was waiting for a referral and was told that I would be given a call with one, never got one. I called back 3 separate days to both of his medical assistances and have received no return call. Now I have been awaiting blood work results that I was told would have given to me a week ago. I have called, left messages and still to this day, no response. I find this highly unprofessional. Great service starts with the frontline. Dr. Small is a good doctor but I won't be returning due to the negligence of his staff.

Dr. Small is great! I have been using him for several years now. He is very thorough and genuinely concerned about his patients. He takes his time. I never feel rushed or silly. He's truly the best! in fact, I drive 50 miles round trip each time I need to see him and that's no complaint. He's worth it!

I am very pleased with Dr. Small. He appears to be caring and knowledgeable with concern for my overall health. Although he is in a large practice, I feel Dr. Small takes time to explain his thoughts on your care and he is not quick to use medications, if not needed. Dr. Small's nurse/MA was personable, efficient, and competent. I highly recommend Dr. Small.

My normal doctor is Dr. Varner but she has been out on maternity leave. I have been having allergy problems and since the over the counter medicine wasn’t helping I thought I’d go see a doctor. A week ago I had also had an allergic reaction to soy milk and was still feeling sick. I was in the room waiting for Dr. Small to come in and he just walked in without even knocking. I know this may sound petty but I’ve never been somewhere where the Dr or nurse just walked in without even knocking. I started to tell him my symptoms and he kept interrupting me and cutting me off. I told him my chest was feeling tight and I was feeling short of breath and wheezing – he brushed this off and just gave me a nasal spray and inhaler. Obviously, he did not take the time to see that I have a heart rhythm disorder. He didn’t even ask if I had any other allergies. I should have just waited for Dr. Varner – she’s the best. Dr. Small is rude and he mumbles.

Dr. Small was terrific. I was looking for a doctor that would take time with me, and explain in detail any/all results. I am so tired of meeting with a doctor, and he's in and out within 30 sec. This was not the case here. He took the time, explained all my test results, and made sure all my questions were answered before he left. Very refreshing!

chalk up another big thumbs up for this guy! I've been a patient for ten years (almost since he got out of residency) and have nothing but great things to say. 1st & foremost, the guy knows his stuff - his diagnoses have always been decisive & spot on (including a perforrated appendix where my white count was completely normal but he didn't buy it and may have saved me by ordering the CT anyway). 2nd, he's never condescending and always willing to explain things (he's even photocopied pages from medical texts for me). 3rd, he's just a likable guy you almost wish you could hang out with if it weren't for that Dr/patient thing. bottom line: nobody's perfect but there's not much to be critical of here...
