First of all why am I paying anything after you bill my insurance? Answer, procedures are max amount. I had a procedure rushed to fit into an hour window. He literally got done at the top of the hour and ran to the next patient. Do you really want someone rushing your dental work to make $1000 an hour, trust me, look elsewhere for a dentist who is worried about your health and not billing your insurance plan.

Dr. McElhinney has been my dentist for over 10 years, not only because of the fantastic dental care he has provided me but because he's on the leading edge of technology and education within the industry. Not only does his staff provide great basic care, but he's probably THE leading dentist in Reno in terms of use of technology in his practice (i.e electronic records & investment in new equipment) as well as always reading and attending educational seminars. He's a dental "professional" in the truest sense of the word. I know some of his patients include those who have had shoddy work done by the "discount dental chains" that have moved into Reno. And if you've got major dental work or high-end cosmetics that need to be done... you should definitely visit Dr. McElhinney. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a new dentist in Reno.

My wife and I have not found a comparable dental provider since we left Reno. Dr. McElhinney has those special skills to know what to do and when; all the while providing the utmost in customer service and high quality, lasting results. Subsequent dentists have marveled over Dr. McElhinney's crown work. I wish only that they'd marvel less and try harder to achieve his level of professionalism!

This dentist is rude and arrogant. I would suggest that if you go to him, please get another opinion first before you get ripped off and get pressured to do procedures that are not what you really need.

Dr. McElhinney is a great dentist. The reason I went to him was because another dentist, Dr. Talancon really made a mess. He pulled out all of my upper teeth and took impressions for dentures. Sent those impressions to his brother that I am sure operated out of his garage and really made some horrible dentures. So then Dr. Talancon had another set made and they were even worse. I gave up on him and went to see Dr. McElhinney and he redid the dentures and they turned out great. I have been with Dr. McElhinney for some years now and he is a great dentist with a great staff. Highly recommend him for someone looking for a dentist

I love everything about this office; the staff, the doctor, the waiting room, just everything. Dr. McElhinney is one of two dentists in my 56 years who could numb me. I love Marian and Kym. Both are exceptionally professional and friendly. I immediately referred my daughter and husband to this office. I feel so lucky to finally find a doctor with his expertise.

The woman in the billing dept billed repeatedly for services, charged insurance months before all the work was done, and failed to bill insurance correctly by putting in wrong procedure codes and social security #s on the claim forms. On the statement I received, she billed me for work never done (2 different codes for the same tooth for 2 different types of fillings on one tooth), failed to bill our other insurance completely on half of the claims, then sent account to collections! Dr. McElhinney is great, but the oompa loompa in the billing office has to go before he looses more patients! WE ARE SO OUT OF THERE! Never again will I set foot in the office until she's fired!

I've been going to Dr. McElhinney for many years now and have been very pleased with his services. Dr. McElhinney has the newest technology available such as the digital xray and laser non-surgical gum treatments, there are very few dentists using this state-of-the-art technology. His staff is professional and friendly. His assistant, Kym is very sweet and always makes sure I'm comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. McElhinney!!!

He was very knowledgeable. He did not try to push me into anything I was not comfortable with. His staff was very friendly and for once I actually enjoyed going to the dentist.

Each year Dr McElhinney accepts a patient that is disabled and performs necessary dentistry to save that patient's teeth. He accepted my daughter as one of his patients for which I will be forever grateful. He and his staff are more than kind to her. I personally have never heard of any other dentist in the Reno area who contributes his time and hard work to such a worthy cause. So my very grateful daughter and myself have the utmost respect for him and his staff. My daughter upon reading some of the other rating comments was truly shocked, and not just because her work is being done for free. One thing she truly was shocked about was the comment about Dr McElhinney's staff - Natalie has and is always very kind to her, giving my daughter as much respect as she would to a patient with insurance. The doctor's assistant Kim is ALWAYS very professional, kind and caring always making sure Roylene is okay during any and all procedures. The dental hygentist is excellent, also.THANKYOU
