Could not say enough good things about Dr Carandang. She goes above and beyond for my family. She is thorough and always addresses our concerns. In fact, when we had a problem with a medication at our pharmacy she went out of her way to make sure we were able to fill it. Her staff is exceptional and my kids love going to the doctor.

I’m a UH employee and I’m taking our business to MERCY, what does that tell you? Very dissatisfied and it saddens me how my newborn was treated.
Our 2 month old was due for his shots, went to his appt and after waiting 2 hours (and being told someone was on the way with the vaccines from another office) we were finally told they didn’t have the vaccines and told we would get a call the next day when they came in. The nurse admitted they didn’t look on the schedule to see he needed his vaccines and said we were the “guinea pigs”. I ended up calling the office at the end of the next day as no one called and was told the vaccines won’t be in for TWO WEEKS and to go to the department of health if I didn’t want to wait for them to come in! *please know that he has been coming to the office since he was born.* Someone could have called and let us know they didn’t have any vaccines so we could plan accordingly.

My husband, newborn and I were all patients of Dr Carandang. Unfortunately the patient care was terrible. We decided to leave her practice, now go to Mercy Avon. If she would’ve talked to me an apologized for the offices incompetence we likely would have given her another shot.

Dr Carandang, please evaluate your office staff , this should never occur... and you let 3 patients leave you practice for good. You are a pediatrician and my newborn needed care, and you didn’t deliver. **I don’t care if you office is in the process of moving, if you can’t take care of your very young patients close your office during the transition. Your receptionist and nurse were disrespectful and unapologetic.

Update: I did receive a call from the supervisor two days later to “talk about things” but I did not return the call as my baby received shots the very next day the the Mercy Avon location. No need to discuss when we’ve already left the practice.

first she has me as having medical conditions that I do not have had to have blood work taken at St Johns asap because of the condition that I do not have. I went in for pain management from a car accident and she sent me to a neurologist. They do not do pain management. Had to have her do paperwork and she never called me back. I complained to management and they never called back either.

Dr carandang is a gem! She is very professional but at the same time very friendly. She is very thorough with her examinations and make sure that I understand everything I needed to know, never in a hurry and takes time to answer questions!

Dr. Carandang is a phenomenal doctor that I would highly recommend to anyone. She picked up a thyroid mass in my daughter and immediately referred us to the specialists my daughter needed. She is very down to earth, caring and compassionate. I would recommend her to everyone. She is simply wonderful!

Dr. Carandang is my daughters pediatrician and I absolutely LOVE her! She does not make me feel bad about any parenting decisions (as most pediatricians do) and calms me when I'm being a nervous mommy (without telling me I'm stupid and worry for no reason). She is very knowledgeable and i trust her 100% with my daughters life.
