This doctor is kind and friendly, and may be decent at treating formula-fed babies. However, she is completely unqualified to consult regarding healthy, breastfed babies. She gave me thirty year old advice on breastfeeding. She told me to supplement with formula to help with my soreness, which could easily have damaged my milk supply had I listened to her. She had no advice aside from pushing formula on me. And since my husband was at the appointment and trusted her medical degree, I had to fight an uphill battle with him to breastfeed without supplementation. Even though I was a perfect candidate for exclusive breastfeeding - I had an oversupply of milk, my soreness went away by day 6 of her life with advice from my local La Leche League leader, and my baby had regained her birth weight within 4 days of birth. I wonder how many breastfeeding relationships her advice has sabotaged.
