After being a patient for a year, and 6+ visits, my CPAP machine started acting up. I stopped in to have the PA check the settings just to make sure that I hadn't accidentally done something to mess them up.
Let me say that the staff has always been courteous, helpful and professional. Andres is very competent, friendly and relatable.
So I stopped in see if Andres could take a look at my machine to see if I was going to need a new one.
I was informed immediately by the receptionist (whom I had never seen in the previous 12 months and 6 visits that I had made there). that they "didn't accept walk-ins and you will need an appointment. " If you look up the word "rude" in the dictionary, I'm pretty sure that you'll see this blond woman's picture next to the word.
I informed her that "I" didn't need to see anyone, that it was my CPAP machine that was sick. She insisted that I HAD to have and appointment to see anyone and that walk-ins weren't part of their "protocol".
So, I left and found a new doctor, but in the meantime I still needed to get a CPAP machine that worked until I could see my new sleep disorder doctor. I found a place online that sold them but the website said that I needed a prescription to purchase. I called Dr. Rampertaap's office to see if I could come by and pick up a prescription to purchase a new machine. Once again, I was told that the ONLY way to get a prescription was to make an appointment....blah blah, blah.
I told them that this made little sense. I can call up my PCP and get a refill prescription for my potassium citrate called into the pharmacy but I can't come by and pick one up for a CPAP machine??
This office smacks of money-grubbing and the blond woman behind the window needs remedial courses in professionalism and customer service. I'm done and moving on.
