The hospital was clean and the nursing staff was friendly but professional. What I didn't like was the way some of the treatments that could of been at the hospital were not. You had to wait to make an appointment after you left. I believe that could save liives.

The nurses and doctors have a severe communication problem. Couldn’t get my meds straight for two days. Stay away.

Emergency Dept and ICU saved my husband. Respiratory staff excellent as were all clinical personnel. Internal Medicine Dr MJ Liebling and residents, Dr.Suciui Infectious Disease and Dr Tolouian .Nephrologist, Dr.Holyk and the Cardiology team were miracle workers. Step down Unit CCU was a BIG step down. While most of the medical team continued to provide excellent care,it was apparent that this Unit is critically understaffed. Patients with surgical procedures (my husbands' were cardio catherization followed in a few days by pacemaker implant) are awakened for bathing and site prep at 4 AM regardless of the procedure time ! Not only is this interfering with needed rest it is cruel as patients are prohibited from any liquids nor nourishment. My husband was deprived until he returned to his room after 6 pm ! Just under 24 hours ! In two weeks despite the many hours I was at bedside I never saw nor had my requests to speak with the Internal Medicine team-Dr.Narasimman respected.I was given a copy of the Discharge Instructions proceeding my husband's admission to an acute rehab hospital. My husband had not experienced ANY PAIN during his 23 day hospitalization YET an order for prn morphine and oxycodone was written !!!The RN had no good answer.I persisted and had to DEMAND that Dr.Narasimman cancel these opiods. The RN had to explain (in my presence)my reasoning: having had NO Pain, if at an onset of new pain the patient should be examined by an MD to determine the CAUSE. It is troubling to think that Dr Narasimman's patients leave the hospital with these opiod prn orders. I will contact Manatee Memorial's Medical Director to submit a formal complaint as well as the Florida Board of Medicine. Given the Opiod Crisis this is medical malfeasance.

I had 4 bypass surgery last August at Manatee Memorial, performed by Dr. Ronald Smith. I am a "picky" person, pretty demanding when it comes to service, quality and professionalism. Sometimes, I admit, I am a bit unreasonably demanding. Manatee Memorial met and exceeded my expectations and needs. The physicians and nurses were incredibly loving, cordial and knowledgeable and their professionalism was incredible. Everything and everybody, from the man that came every day asking what I would like to eat, to the imaging team, to my cardiac surgeon, who literally had my heart in his hands twice, stopped it and restarted it, were phenomenal. They kept me and my family informed and constantly tended to our questions, fear, and tears as we were going through one of the toughest times of our lives. I will be forever grateful to Manatee Memorial for taking care of me and my family. Horatio Franco Parrish, FL
