Unfortunately I agree with all these bad reviews. Dr. Ratner seems to have some kind of agenda of having his patients come back every 2 weeks when there is absolutely no reason to. My face mildly broke out when I moved here so I wanted to figure out what was wrong. After he put me on 4 prescriptions, he decided it would be best to put my on Accutane. for MILD acne!! Needless to say, I said no...it didn't get a very good response. I will not go back. The sad thing is that he is really a nice older man, and very funny too. It's just time for retirement.

I called to inquire about seeing Dr. ratner as a new patient. His (I cannot even say what i am thinking) secretary made me cry.(Luckily, not until after I hung up.) I am having a serious issue, and she cut me off before I could even finish explaining what was wrong. If you want an office that fits you in if you have a serious emergency, do not bother. I never saw the doctor, I want nothing to do with that office.

I would not recommend this doctor. After my last visit, I swore I would never go to him again. Dr. Ratner is very rushed and doesn't believe in spending time with his patients at all. I went to him over the course of a year for acne. He put me on antibiotics and two topical creams, which cleared up my face, but at each visit he was very rushed, never discussed how long I would be on medication or what the plan was for keeping my face clear in the future, he just kept me on meds. On my last visit, I expressed my concern of constantly being on antibiotics and he became really irritated with me and walked out before I was even finished speaking with him. I have never received such poor service from a doctor and will never go back to him.

Once you get pass Dr. Ratner's Machiavellian assistant, then you are fine (the asst always says that no new patients are accepted although Dr. Ratner never turns new ones away). I enjoyed my visits to Dr. Ratner over my skin problem. He has a good sense of humor. I never experienced problems with billing during my 4-6 visits. Just bring reading material as the wait can be long.

The doctor seems to run late about average ime for a doctor. The receptionist is not the most pleasant woman in the world, but the nurses are nice. Once past a consultation, I agree whole-heartedly with the 5-7-2007 reviewer. After about a year of continually refilling perscriptions with just a glance at the problem, I am questioning just what's going on. Seriously, after timing the last four month's visits, I think the average time seeing the doctor is about four (4) minutes. The treatments are effective, but they seem to only treat the present issue, but with no resolution in sight.

I'm really surprised that more feedback doesn't mirror some of poorer reviews. I had 3-4 separate appointments with Dr. Ratner to have a warts removed, and my experience was similar each time. He was dismissive to my questions, seemed inattentive, rushed and generally conducted himself a near-unprofessional manner. I had a wart removed that was located near an old scar. After freezing it off, the scar was re-opened and after ~6 months, isnt even close to fading. Not to mention, several additional warts appeared which is a problem I've never had prior. Certainly this isnt all a consequence of seeing Ratner, but he's been entirely unhelpful in appointments subsequent to the first. It finally came to the point where he was walking out of the room mid-question before his nurse had to call him back. This Doc is the poster boy for medical arrogance. By the way, he's never on time. Good luck.

He seems to rush. He'll look at you for 10 seconds before dissmissing you and sending you on your way. He always says come back in 2 weeks. Found another Derm that is infinity times better. I don't reccomend him.

Good doctor, knows his stuff. But you have to be persistent for him to give you all the information you need. He will dismiss you and walk out of the room if you don't ask questions fast and poignantly. Otherwise, he's great.

Dr. Ratner seems focused on billing, billing, billing. I had to have a total of 6 visits to get one mole and one wart removed. The "follow up" visits consisted of him spending 30 seconds looking at the site of the removal and saying, "Looks fine, come back next week." I went in once with a rash on my hand, he again spent 30 seconds looking at it and said, "Come back next week." I said, "What IS it?" and he didn't even have an answer! No diagnosis, no prescription, just a follow up visit for...nothing? I never went back. Two years later, I was talking to a friend about her dermatologist and she was complaining that he seemed to be running up the bill by making her come back every week. I said it sounded familiar and yep, it was Dr. Ratner. She left him too. He's probably good for cosmetic dermatology, which appears to be the focus of his practice, but for regular dermatological care find a better doctor.
