It's been over 3 yrs since my discectomy/curvical fusion surgery (2 level C6 to T1) w/plate, and could have not be more pleased with Dr. Kaiser, his staff (incl. Rosemary) and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to the surgery i went to multiple Dr's for advice, pain shots, PT and Chiropractors to get relieve, with no luck. Then in mid-2010 the pain was unbearable and numbness/weakness was getting worse, it was time to do something. Most important for me, was the many questions i had (comparing my surgery options) and i felt that Dr. Kaiser was by far the most competent and knowledgable surgeon. He convinced me to stick with the gold standard because of my condition, and could not have been more pleased. No pain and full activity. Highly recommend Dr. Kaiser.

He is a busy dr.- don't expect an hour long consultation to get basic information you can get on your own. He provided an accurate assessment of my situation and the spinal fusion surgery went as expected. It cured the objective symptoms like toe weakness and rid me of about 90% of the pain. Columbia is a very busy place and you you may feel like you are staying in a MASH unit afer the surgery, but they have all the latest info and equipment and talented people in the surgery room. Kaiser fixed the problem and the nurse that works for him in his office WILL get you all the information you need and handle any problems that come up. The expectation with this practice is that the patient comes fairly well educated and able to handle some aspects on their own such as physical therapy and pain management afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend this doctor- I'd rather have talent in the operating room over chit-chat in the consultation room.

I am a 24 year old female who had a lumbar microdiscectomy on 8/10/2011 by Dr. Kaiser. It has been four days now since my operation and I could not be happier! My back pain is gone! Dr. Kaiser and his staff are the epitome of excellence! Anyone with severe back pain knows how emotionally traumatic it can be! I was a complete disaster before I found him. Other Doctors I had seen, were quick to prescribe pain meds or suggest surgery but it was just not right. When I saw Dr. Kaiser he had me explore every option I possibly could to conservatively treat my problem. When the pain persisted and surgery was the way to go, he made me feel safe and secure. Dr. Kaiser and his nurse Roseann took the time to EXPLAIN everything to me. I felt like I mattered! and they were listening!! I so HIGHLY recommend him as the way to go If you are in need!!! So much so that you can email me at Jrenz1117@yahoo.com If you want to know anything else about my experience.

Although I am confident that Dr. Kaiser is a very talented surgeon, his bedside manner is sorely lacking. He came off as arrogant and rude. That said, I believe he understood my issues and would have been competent, but I went with another surgeon in the same practice who was as skilled at surgery as he was at relating to patients on a much less clinical level.

Dr Kaiser was recommended to me by a friend and he is wonderful. In every way my lower back surg was a success. His patience is exemplary. Very calming. His nursing staff and the team of residents were also terrific. Cant say enough about Dr Kaiser. Thanks Doc

He is competent, kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He is excellent at what he does. My neck surgery by him was more successful than I could have even hoped! Would give more stars if I could.

Not a good experience. I had complications after neck fusion surgery(peripheral neuropathy) and he couldn't run away from me fast enough.
