I had a torn meniscus 16 years ago that didn't go well. He said I wasn't doing enough rehab. The swelling was extreme and I couldn't bend at all for 4 weeks! Pain relief in hospital was extreme also. Nurses couldn't understand why I needed so much for this artharoscopy . I was told the meniscus was trimmed, and have now found out it was removed and am looking at a TKR. Not happy with this outcome.

I went to see Dr Hayes in 2005 having lost 5cm of tibia in a car accident. The previous ortho had no idea what to do other than cut my leg off he said.
So after ringing around I was seen by Dr Hayes. He explained that I was in the 2% of keeping my leg.
He laid out a 2 year treatment/surgeries and explained it all. He said that if at end of 2 yr bone doesn't take that there was no reason to keep a leg since you can't weight bear on a leg with no bone.
Bone shaving followed by bone graft every 3 months and any sign of infection immediately treated.
At the 2 year mark it all worked and I was very fortunate to keep my leg and all thanks to Dr Hayes.
17 years later and I'm thankful every day to you Dr Hayes. You truly are my hero, forever grateful. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me and my family. E Nika.

I had a hip scope performed by Dr Hayes a couple of years ago and I could not speak more highly of both his clinical expertise as well as his bedside manner. His high level of attention to detail made me feel comfortable at every step of the way. I would particularly recommend him to other athletes as it can be hard to find a surgeon who has both the level of skill as well as the understanding of sport and rehab.

Dr Hayes recently preformed hip replacement for me. He is warm and friendly, straightforward in explanation and always happy to take that extra time. His staff are amazing nothing is to much trouble. He not only assisted with the hip replacement but was the one Dr who encouraged me to follow what might be the wider cause of my hip issue thus my discovering an underlying joint degenerating disease. Thank you Dr Hayes for giving me back my daily life with a new hip but also changing the ongoing course of my health.

I had patellar realignment surgery 8yrs ago and it was unsuccessful. I still have swelling issues to this day and I’m only 41yrs old. Dr Hayes had the worst bed side manner and the way he told me that I wasn’t going to recover fully from the surgery was by dictating a letter whilst I sat beside him and told me to go through a GP get pain meds. Angry is an understatement

Amazing and exceptional staff. Nothing too big or too small for this wonderful team to assist you with. Dr Hayes has an awesome bedside manner. He takes the time to explain everything in detail and makes sure you fully understand what is going to happen and is not quick to proceed to surgical procedures if not required. Finally found the perfect specialist for me.
