Didn't inform or monitor a severe side-effect that led to hospitalization, very hard to get through on phones to talk to human. Usually call back next day or so, but good luck if you need to reschedule an appt, even weeks prior. He terminates care at drop of a hat, so not one to go to if you want collaborative relationship for treatment or be told that a med could cause suicidal ideation. He smiled and nodded, and then make no changes in meds as I slid into deeper and deeper depression over 6 month period. I've had equal and better care from many other psychs, even community mental health care. I wasted a year and lots of money seeing him, in addition to becoming less functional which was partly because of the med side-effects.

I was referred to Dr. Griffith by my current therapist, with the caveat that "there aren't really any great psychiatrists in this area," and that, while Griffith is good in the technical aspects (trying medications, tweaking dosages), he has no "bedside manner."

That was a pretty accurate assessment—he's friendly enough, but seems to see patients as problems to be solved, rather than people. During appointments, he spends long stretches of time typing on his laptop.

He is cautious about dosages, preferring to find the lowest amount that works, which I appreciate. However, he tends to not mention side effects other than the most obvious and common ones; I usually have to research side effects myself.

Getting in touch with his office by phone is nearly impossible. One often has to leave several voice mails and hope that someone calls back eventually. I have no faith that I could get in touch with Dr. Griffith or his office if I were to have an emergency of some kind. Also, long waits before appointments are common.

I've been seeing Dr. Griffith now, for about two years. At first I was annoyed that the phones always go to voicemail but I flat out asked them about it. They told me they get so many calls, up to 100 in a day, it would be impossible for them to check me in for my appointment and schedule my next appointment if they answered their phones. After they explained this to me it made sense so I don't mind leaving a message. Plus Dr. Griffith is a helpful doctor and a great guy.

Very intelligent and though. Difficult getting someone to talk to you on the phone when calling for appointments. Will continue to go because I have great respect for Dr. Griffith.

You have to call the office and wait for a return call, if they call. Good luck with that. There are doctors out there that actually have staff answering the phones in there offices. I highly recommend you see them before calling this office.

It's been over twenty years since I sought the help out of this doctor. He caught my eye for sure when I finally met him, SOOOOO handsome and I think he wore bow ties if I recall correctly. The only problem with so many of the medicines is the weight gain issue that takes over while you are sleeping! Ta ta for now.

Dr. Griffith is a blessing to anyone who is serious about their mental health. People that complain about cancellation fees probably are not that serious. Since I have been his patient I'm on the perfect meds . He definitely does not over medicate.

Do not go to this doctor, find another. The doctor and staff are more interested in the money than caring for the patient. If you cancel an appointment you are charged $40.00. If you cancel a few times you will be terminated as a patient. The doctor over medicates and does not spend enough time with you to explain your condition and medicine. You can never reach anyone when you call the office. You have to leave a message and wait for a return call.
