I visited Dr. Barry Kaplan in 2019 and I was not happy with the results he did nothing at all told me I was fine, I seen a diffrent Nero surgon and he ordered MRI and a CT scan. Results The CT shows a pseudoarthrosis at C3-4 as well as adjacent segment disease at C7-T1 and changes C5-6 and C6-7. Appears to be excessive bone growth at the C6-7 level compressing her spinal cord. I am recommending a posterior cervical laminectomy and fusion C3-T1 risk and benefits were discussed in great detail for which patient understands we will make arrangements soon as possible if the patient's symptoms change in the meantime she will present to the emergency department

As difficult as it was to work with him in the 80s when my mother got diagnosed with lung cancer in 90, he was the one who found it and was VERY kind when he had to tell me. I will never forget that. Thank you, Dr. Kaplan.

Dr. Kaplan did a c4 fusion on my father's neck. A friend we know told us in confidence that Dr. Kaplan has anger issues and fits in surgery and throws medical tools across the room and or at his staff, even walking out on surgeries halfway through, which is what he did to my father. We found out through a friend who was there in the surgery that only half the fusing was done to my father, and when my father came to do a follow-up visit, Dr. Kaplan said, "well, we need to do another fusing?" When my father asked why he never took care of it during the initial surgery, he said he only does one fusing at a time, which is complete lunacy. He was trying to cover himself and charge for another surgery due to mental issues. When my father told him he never wanted to have the second surgery, Dr. Kaplan yelled at him "get out of my office! You never needed the original surgery in the first place, and there was nothing wrong with you anyways! I never want to see you in my office again!" Had we put all the pieces of the puzzle together sooner, we would have sued the heck out of this guy. Dr. Kaplan is a Narcissistic Psycho who needs to be locked up! This was all validated by second opinions and other medical professionals in the field.

He had the wit to tell us in the waiting room the surgery went well.4 hrs later and pissed we got the see my father going to ICU. He died that night. As long as patients vitals are good doctor are covered and they wheel u to ICU, This Doctor got kicked out of Ocala Hospital 2018.

This Dr. Is the best. He has brought me through multiple brain surgeries. The only complaint I have is why didn't I find him sooner. The best surgeon that you will find in the state, perhaps the country.

I saw Barry Kaplan for pain in my back and legs. He ordered a MRI for my neck and one for my back. Both MRI’s showed that I had stenosis in my vertebrae in both my cervical and lower back vertebrae. He insisted that he needed to operate on my neck so that he could treat the stenosis and fuse three of my cervical vertebrae. He said that I had a good 95% chance of improvement. I questioned why surgery on my neck when my complaints were in my lower back and legs. He said by treating my neck it would also take care of my back. He was wrong! I was worse after his surgery; I wish I had never let him operate on me. I ended up with the same back and leg pain. The surgery side of my neck has what I assume, scar tissue that has left the skin numb and difficulty swallowing. I have to be careful not to choke.
I have made an offer with pain management with hopes that they can help me.
Once again, I wish I had never gone to him.

Dr. Kaplan is a dangerous doctor. If there is anything like karma, Kaplan will some day find himself in the inept hands of a fellow physician, and he will then be the helpless one.

Dr Kaplan did a spinal fusion on my lumbar region. Three months later I am back to normal activities. I have soreness in the back area if I overdue it, but I have no sciatica at all. Before the surgery, I could hardly walk. I worried that I would not get strength back in my left leg, but it is good now. My only advice is that if you make an appt for post-op, make sure you specify that you want him, or you will get a physicusn’s assistant. I got the assistant and had to book another appt to see him.

From start to finish, we found both the staff and Dr. Kaplan to be personable, courteoust, compassionate and above all highly professional. My wife is healthier, happier and living as normal a life as possible after her surgery and post op care.
