The first time I saw Dr. Tugwell was in 2014, as my regular doctor unexpectedly retired and they transferred his patients to other physicians. The first time, I thought he was nice and seemed genuinely concerned, though a little odd that he offered me antidepressants without knowing a thing about me or my life. The second time was in 2015. I first could hear him in the next room with another patient, offering her the same sleep aid (a former antidepressant) and another antidepressant to her that he'd offered me, with the same speech about the effectiveness and whatnot (almost like he was selling it). When he came to my room, which was for a routine physical and nothing more, he literally repeated himself with the same drug speech he gave the patient next door, which was the same speech he'd given me the year before. I will not take these drugs that I do not need, nor see a doctor who seems too concerned with pushing them on his patients. I'm changing doctors this year.

This was the worst doctor I ever experienced. It was my first pregnancy and I was clueless to a lot and apparently so was he. I told him I was experiencing severe vomiting and nausea along with vaginal bleeding and lower abdominal pain. He told me this all was normal. I was terribly sick. One morning when I was around 10 weeks I bled so bad that I had to be rushed to St. Francis...I was told in the emergency room that I had uterine fibroid tumors which were causing the pain and bleeding. I found me a new doctor of course and immediately was placed on bed rest due to also having a low placenta that was causing the problems in addition to the tumors. Tugwell, also made it difficult for me to be taken off work and refused to run test or listen to me prior to finding an incredible new doctor. Unfortunately, it was all too much and my pregnancy ended at 5 1/2 months. I thank God I found a great doctor at 3 months but it just still amazes me how negligent this man was. Just says a lot about him. I would not recommend this person to anyone.

It had only been 15 months since my c-section so I was going to have another one with this baby. I also have a heart disease, and therefore I had to see an OB 2 hours away from me because NONE of the OBs around my town would see me. I woke up having contractions a week before my scheduled c-section and decided to go to Glenwood and get checked out to make sure I was indeed in labor before I made the long trip to my doctor. Dr. Tugwell happened to be on-call that day. He did everything he could to get me out of there so he wouldn't have to deal with me. I had to wait until he was done with his regular patients and wound up being at the hospital for over 12 hours (in labor the entire time!!) before he delivered my baby. I could have ruptured and died all because he didn't want to deal with me. He made it VERY clear that he did NOT want me as a patient and would NEVER agree to take me on because of my heart disease. I felt like he was angry that he had to deal with me.

very nice and understanding...it was a nice change from what i was used to from all other dr.'s and clinics around here! he was very polite and made you feel comfortable and explained what was going on with you, gave answers to everything. i've had horror stories from previous dr.'s, glad to know that he actually knows what he is talking about, un like anyone else!
