BMC has a brand new outpatient building that includes General Medicine, which is gorgeous. It's nice to see that they are trying to provide decent facilities to their patients even when they are having their funding slashed (as a public hospital they depend on Medicare funding). I thought Dr. Freund was nice and got the job done efficiently without seeming rushed, but I don't have any complicated medical problems. She is an women's health expert but more a researcher, so I was not expecting too many warm fuzzies. All in all I was satisfied with the care from the Dr., and I really loved the new building.

Avoid Dr. Freund. She misdiagnoses things, her staff is extremely rude and ignorant, and nobody there gives a rip about whether patients actually improve or not. It's a real big shame, because so many of Freund's patients are indigent. The Boston Medical Center paid its CEO a multi-million dollar retirement package but yet the patients still have to suffer with sub-standard care in a filthy, pathogen-filled environment. Want a flesh-eating bacterial infection? If so, Freund and her hospital will give it to you. If you don't want it, avoid this dump.

I'm actually evaluating Dr. Freund's practice and not the doctor herself, because although she was my "primary" for close to 10 years, I never event met her! My medical care (which was sometimes very complex, although never critical) was always handled by her NP, Eunice Macallister. I have to say that I was very happy with the care I received from Eunice. She always spent a lot of time with me, was a great listener, picked up a couple of problems that turned out to have been misdiagnosed by MDs, and was very quick to send me to a specialist if appropriate. We had a very collaborative relationship. The staffing is a problem. Some of the people are very nice and helpful, but some, not so much. Ultimately, I've decided to go to another doctor because of traveling considerations, but I have to say, I was very happy with the care I received at BMC.

Freund and her staff are just awful. The place is a pig-sty and the staff (including the Nurse Practitioner named Eunice) are rude and dismissive. I was their patient and couldn't wait to quit after they didn't label samples, mis-diagnosed me, and treated me like crap throughout my chronic illness. Freund is cold, judgmental, and detached. Time for her to retire.

Despite my mother's diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer that eventually spread to the bones due to Dr. Freund continually rescheduling her appointments for almost one YEAR, Dr. Freund still is rescheduling appointments on her. I feel as though this Dr. is primarily responsible for my mother's diagnosis and I would urge NO woman to ever consider her as their PCP. My mother is now in the hands of a wonderful oncologist and some great surgeons at BMC, but we have urged her time and time again to change Dr. Freund as her PCP and I would urge the same to anyone seeking medical care. This Dr. does not care, does not show sympathy, and has a very poor staff. This is malpratice; she should not be a Dr. It's that cut and dry.

I hated this doctor, her office staff, and the junky faciltiy at Boston Medical Center. This one has a big, bat attitude and is not helpful at all.
